1. Items can be placed in the online auctions by filling in the appropriate form in our Sell in Auction section on the site. A commission of 5% will be charged on all items sold ( 10% on items that sell below £500) with a minimum of £6 on any individual item.

2. Railwayana.net is unable to accept any items for auction relating to paperwork with the exception of posters and carriage prints.

3. A full description plus a clear digital photograph must be given for each lot that is not delivered to our Dorking office. The sale will be conducted on the basis of this description & photograph and any lot that does not match its description may be refused by the purchaser at the vendors expense.

4. All lots will have a reserve unless stated. A lot that has not reached its reserve by the close of bidding will be offered initially to the highest bidder at the reserve.

5. On the close of bidding you must contact us by phone within four days (or as stated in the catalogue) on 01306 502044 if you think you have been successful with any lot(s). Many items will be at our Dorking office but some will still be with the vendors (these items will be clearly labelled in the catalogue with the town they are located in ). Any item in the auction that must be collected from Dorking due to its size or weight it will be labelled "TBCD". Items that are with us in Dorking that can be delivered free to the next Major auction, or picked up from Dorking but cannot be posted are listed BTC.  When you contact us we will note your delivery requirements and agree a postage cost if appropriate.

7. Full details of the closing times & procedures for each auction are posted on the auction page.
