Terms & Conditions (Auction &
General)
1. Items can be
placed in our auctions by filling in the appropriate
form in our Sell in Auction section on the site or by delivering the
items to Dorking or to a Railwayana event that we are attending. A commission of
5% will be charged on all items sold with a minimum of £5 on any
individual item including not sold lots.
2. Railwayana.net is able to
accept most genuine Railwayana items for auction but please contact us in
advance before delivering or posting items to be sold.
3. A full
description plus a clear digital photograph must be given for each
lot that is not delivered to our Dorking office. The
sale will be conducted on the basis of this description & photograph
and any lot that does not match its description may be refused by
the purchaser at the vendors expense.
4. All lots
will
have a reserve unless stated. A lot that has not reached its
reserve by the close of bidding will be offered initially to the highest
bidder at the reserve.
5. On the close
of bidding on a Catalogued Auction you must contact us by phone within four days (or as
stated in the catalogue) on 01306
502044 if you think you have been successful with any lot(s). Many items will be at our
Dorking office but some will still be with the vendors (these items
will be clearly labelled in the catalogue with the town they are
located in ). Any
item in the auction that must be collected from Dorking due to its
size or weight it will be
labelled "TBCD". Items that are with us
in Dorking that can be delivered free to the next Major auction, or
picked up from Dorking but cannot be posted are listed BTC. When you
contact us we will note your delivery requirements and agree a
suitable
postage cost if appropriate. The costs for delivering each
individual item are listed on the the Lot page for each item. Please
check the options before you bid.
6.
Railwayana.net Ltd reserves the right to refuse bids from any
customer without having to give a reason. If they have bid in a
previous auction and have been issued with a bidding number then
this number will be withdrawn.
7. If there is
any dispute at the end of bidding the auctioneers decision is final.
8. Full details
of the closing times & procedures for each auction are posted on the
auction page.
9. All internet
bidders will be informed within twenty four hours by e-mail that
their bid has been received apart from the final bidding day for
each item. You may call during the final day up to end of bidding at
2.0pm to check that a bid placed on the internet has been received. For non catalogued auctions, where most
bids will be via the internet, we will contact you by email at the
end of the auction to arrange payment and delivery.
10. Phone
bidders will be told at the time of their call if they are leading
for any particular lot. All bidders who have only placed bids by
Phone must contact us at the end of the Auction to see if they have
been successful.
11. Postage costs will be for Royal
Mail uninsured delivery by letter post or Standard Parcel Post Items can be sent by
Recorded Delivery, Special Delivery or Parcelforce 48 hour tracked
service for an extra payment. Please ask, when you contact us, for
the appropriate prices or check the Lot page on the Auction website.
12. All items
are carefully packed but we can take no responsibility for an
auction lot once posted. We always obtain proof of posting & will
assist in your claim against Royal Mail if an item is lost or
damaged. We always advise buyers to collect in person if possible
because of the risk of problems in the postal system. We use DHL as
carriers for sending Modern traction nameplates.
13. A full set
of Auction terms & conditions for catalogued or live auctions are available in the
catalogue produced for that auction.
14. Railwayana.net will not Auction any Replica item unless it is
clearly described as a replica, and will withdraw from auction any lot whose
authenticity is called into doubt. An item purchased & returned
undamaged within 7 days with evidence that the item is a replica or
forgery will have the sale rescinded and the purchase price &
postage returned.
15. There is no
VAT payable by vendors or purchasers. A Buyers premium of 10% on
general items and 5% on all nameplates will be added to the Invoice.
The maximum Buyers Premium for a Bidder in one auction is capped at
£150.
16. The site is
run by Railwayana.net Ltd a Limited Company registered in England
