602.             GWR Tourist Ticket Facilities, May 1 to October 31, 1935, from South Wales and Monmouthshire.  56 pp.

603.             GWR  Tourist Arrangements, dated June 1878 from London , some wonderful journeys to coasts, hills valleys and watering places on and off the system, includes South Wales, Hereford – Brecon, Vale of Llangollen, etc. Ornate coa  decoration on cover.

621.          Replica  A4 nameplate  “Merlin” by D.Owen (incised). 40½” x 7½”. Red background to letters. Owen’s plates are regarded by many as good as one can get to the real thing.

622.          LMS  Booklet Instructions respecting the working of Rail Motors and Motor Trains Jan 1946.  16 pp. At the back lists lines authorised to be worked by rail motors including lines around Brynmawr, Swansea, Dowlais.

623.          Crewe LNWR sheet issued with Instructions for working traffic through Crewe Station on 4 Nov 1906 with track plan of the whole station area and a list of over 200 signals controlled by the listed signal boxes. 40” x 25”. Folded. Issued as a supplement to Railway News”. 17.11.1906

624.          BR(E) Carriage Panel  “Suburban Lines Route Diagram”  showing lines to Hitchin, Hertford North with the branch to Dunstable North. Dated 1963, original LNER bakelite frame.

626.          Great Western Railway, bilingual Welsh/English Trespass notice. In nice ex lineside condition. From Bala.

627.          GWR  Notice of Special Arrangements in connection of Swindon Mechanics Institution trip  July 7 – 14, 1905.  16 pp. Includes times from Swindon to Newton Abbot and Plymouth giving exact numbers of adults and children to each station. Also Swindon, Pembroke and New Milford.

628.          LNWR Views of North Wales. A card envelope containing fold out views including nice beach scenes of Llandudno, Rhyl and Colwyn Bay produced for the Japan British Exhibition of 1910. Good condition.

629.          Letter Pullman Car Company concerning complaint made by Secretary of Fulham Football Club that food served was unsatisfactory in one of its carriages on LNER. “The chops had been kept in the ice cupboard over Easter holidays… there is no doubt they fell very short of what was to be expected”. From Thomas Parnell (manager) to LNER.  20.4.1925.

642.          GWR Booklet “Instructions for working through the Severn Tunnel and on the inclines and sidings between Patchway & Severn Tunnel Junction” Bristol  1930. 15 pp. Rusty staples, otherwise g.c.

643.          Mc Kenzie and Holland “umbrella” finial ex Rhymney Railway. Fully 46” tall. V.impressive. Repair to top of spike.

644.          BR(E) Enamel. “No unauthorized Parking in front of this building”. A few chips but generally OK.  36” x 24”.

645.          GWR  l/p Timetable Poster. In consequence of the destruction of the Portskewett Pier by fire arrangements have been made for the following service of Trains between Cardiff and Bristol via Lydney and Severn Bridge for May 2   1881. Actually gives times from New Milford, Carmarthen, Swansea etc. as well as Cardiff. 16” x 15”. Repairs along a fold but generally good for its ages.

649.          (LMS) ivorine signal box instrument plate “Standish Junc” Rectangular with notched corners. Junction between GWR and LMS south of Gloucester.

668.          LMS Sepia Carriage Panels  1. Lowther Castle near Penrith 2. Loch Goil and Loch Long. Both suffer from staining and Loch Goil has 1½” tears and pin marks (2).

672.          BR(W) Poster Market Place Wells, Somerset. A fine late 1950’s colour photograph of Busy market day with old cars, vans, postman on bike and the cathedral in background. One of the “See Britain by Train” series of smaller format posters. 30” x 20”, printed by Baynard Press.

673.          BR(Sc) Closure poster  Upper  Greenock. Dec. 1966.  40” x 25”, folded. One or two tears repairs.

674.          (BR) Instrument for testing eyesight of applicants for drivers and firemen. Used in Manchester Division.

676.          BR(S) Report Performance and efficiency tests of Southern Region “Merchant Navy” class 3 cyl 4-6-2 Mixed traffic locomotive. A very detailed report comparing loco and boiler efficiency using coal from Bedwas (South Wales steam coal), South Kirkby and Blidworth coals. Many graphs, diagrams  45 pp. Jan 1954.

677.          BR(S) Allocation of Southern Region Locomotives from 1st July 1963. Many alterations in ink and numbers crossed through when withdrawn, together with a sheet from General manager’s office Waterloo detailing loco transfers and withdrawals in Jan 1964 – which were to remain at depots and not to be used.

678.          BR(M) Passenger Services  T/T  Leicester, Derby and Nottingham Districts. Summer 1949.  80 pp. Good clean condition.

679.          “Southern Railway Trespassers will be prosecuted” c/i notice. Rectangular with rounded corners. Repainted. Much less common than the 1924 trespass.

683.          Carriage Print  Debenham, Suffolk by F.W. Baldwin. A tranquil village scene with timbered houses, and no cars in sight. From the LNER series. In an original type glazed frame and  in excellent condition.

684.          Carriage Print  Aldeburgh, Suffolk by F.W.Baldwin. Great attention to detail in this fine picture of the old seaside town. LNER series. In an original type glazed frame and  in excellent condition.

685.          Carriage Print Loch Linnhe and Morven Hills, western Highlands by Jack Marriott. An atmospheric view with low cloud emphasizing the desolate scenery. From the Scottish series in the smaller LNER size. In an original type glazed frame and  in excellent condition.

686.          Carriage Print  Loch Awe, Argyll by J. McIntosh Patrick. A colourful print with lots of attention to detail. Scottish series in the larger LMS size. In an original type glazed frame and in excellent condition.

696.          (LNER) signal box Diagram “Highdyke”. A fully coloured diagram on cartridge paper. Shows Stainby branch and extensive sidings. In fine ex box condition. Late 1940s.

697.          GWR Order of Service for Armistice Day Card. 11 Nov 1926. Spike hole, otherwise good cond.

698.          LMS Vertical Track Plan Hereford Brecon Curve – Hay, Brecon – Ynisygeinon Jc with enlargements of Hereford Moorfields, Eardisley, Hay, Talyllyn, Brecon and Colbren Jct. marked Temporary Nov 1930. Quite detailed.

699.          (Caledonian Railway) Enamel Sign “Do not Cross the Rails. Use The Footbridge”. White on dark blue. Still in its original wooden frame and in good condition for its age. From Coupar Angus.

 700.      (Caledonian Railway) Enamel Trespass Sign 14 lines of text and with the Secretary’s name John Blackburn, Glasgow 1st Aug 1893. Made by Falkirk Iron Co. Still in its original wooden frame. With only 2 small chips. White lettering on dark blue. This is the best Caley Trespass we have ever seen. Excellent for a sign over 100 years old. From Coupar Angus.
