314.          Cardiff Railway  Plans and Sections 1908 Session. 6 large plans all in good condition within cloth covers with company title. Most of plans in Cardiff Docks area. Each plan stamped “Deed Department GWR”.

320.          LNWR  map case. Black painted tin container stamped with company initials, 8” x 5½”, with hinged lid.

321.          Wagon labels, all to Hereford dated 1924. two examples are Severn and Wye Joint, grain from Sharpness Docks, one LNER with the remainder being a nice selection of GWR.  25 in total.

322.          Enamel sign  British Transport Commission Trespass Notice. Black lettering on white. Generally good cond. but three minor edge chips plus large chip top left corner with lettering unaffected. 15” x 12”.

323.          Handbill Midland Railway, green, black lettering. Temperance Fete at Crystal Palace. Day Trip to London on Tuesday, July 22, 1873. Times and fares from Bradford and several other stations as far south as Ilkeston.

          10” x 6½”.

326.          Coloured pictorial card Advert  Festiniog Railway – the Faery Line with colour pictures of Snowdon, Tan y bwlch lake, slate quarries etc. with descriptions – excursion and circular tickets available for GWR and LMS stations. Very colourful and good condition for its age. C.1930. 7½” x 10”.

327.          GWR Plymouth Div notice 301 Special Arrangements in connection of conveyance of Volunteers returning from camps 12 -14 Aug 1905. Gives times of trains e.g. for 5th Devon (Volunteer Bat.) Camelford to Newton Abbot,  1st Cornwall R.G.A., Turnchapel to Penzance, etc.

328.          Cast-iron notice “Midland and Gt Northern Joint Railway, trespassers will be prosecuted. By order” Midland Rly pattern sign which were mainly on the western section of the line. Face repainted, back original.

Pencil annotations with date 2.3.26 together with blue print diagram – GWR Bala to illustrate an accident involving T. Roberts 1 April, 1939. Gives good details of the Bala station, shed area with GWR Shrewsbury stamp. 2 May 1939.

344.          Card/Tin notice “Book Here for British European Airways Air Services within the British Isles”. 6” x 4”. Probably pre-war.

345.          GWR Plymouth Div Extra Trains and Special Arrangements. August        19 – 25 1905. Includes  times of LSWR Special. Travelling luggage porters, summary of stock required for excursions, formation of specials, etc. 20 pp.

346.          LNER (Sheffield Dist) Diagram of Signals and Table of Locking Thrybergh Jc. Dated 28.2.35. Some old tape on rear folds but no loss.

354.          Cast- iron Notice  “Southern Railway. Beware of Trains”  Rectangular with rounded corners. Repainted.  26” x 16½”.

355.          Accident Report  St Johns, Lewisham  4 Dec 1957  27 pp + pull out diagrams. A major accident in fog involving 34066 and an e.m.u. in which 90 people were killed.

356.          GNR  Plan  “GNR Kings Cross” Coal yards. Adjacent to loco shed. Shows the sections used by different coal companies such as Tyne Main, Newton Chambers and Thorpe Head & Co. Folded, stamped GNR Surveyors Dept 1920.

357.          Shedplate  9D Buxton, Buxton 1948 -63. Newton Heath 1963 – 1973. Repainted.  

358.          BR( E)  S&T Diagram “Thames Haven Branch. Proposed alterations in connection with increased Line capacity 13.3.72  - T.C. block to be instituted between Stamford-le-Hope and Low St.  s/box. Quite detailed plan.

359.          BR(SC)  Alloy  key-token  Cairnryan Jct. – Castle Kennedy. A Wigtownshire location near Stranraer.

360.          BR(W) Enamel Posterboard heading “Special Notices”,  brown/cream. Some edge/fixing hole chips. Lettering unaffected,   27” x 4”.

361.          Brochure Napier Deltic industrial engines/rail traction engines with photos of D5902 and the original blue Deltic prototype. Covers slightly grubby.

362.          Luggage Label  Golden Arrow  London to Paris and on reverse Paris to London, Red/Yellow with arrow motif. Colourful, unused. 1950’s. Thin card.

367.          (SR) Brass cased Sykes Repeater. The face marked “Light  In  Out”. Good cond.

368.          Caledonian and Scottish Central Rys Amalgamation Act 1865. So titled in gold block lettering on maroon covers.  77pp.

369.          Railway Signalling and Communications. Installation and Maintenance pub St Margaret’s Press 1946,  408pp. + index.  A mass of information.

370.          Cast-iron Notice “Southern Railway. To Drivers and Owners of Locomotives” – refers to 1861 Act.  S.R. Bridge weight restriction notices are not particularly common. Rectangular with rounded corners.            32¼” x 19½”. Repainted.

371.          Poster BR(W) Western Region Car Tourist Services to Devon and Cornwall. Travel relaxed the “Western” way. Weekdays March – Oct 1959. Striking artwork depicts the smokebox of locomotive and a car (Reg G.W.R. 1) merging together. Very colourful. Rolled. 40” x 25”.  g.c.

372.          Poster BR(M) Chester. Very attractive and colourful street scene, full of shoppers. Very 1950’s feel with old cars and people smartly dressed. This is the same image as the early 1950’s Claude Buckle poster but reduced in size for the smaller format “See Britain by Train” series produced in 1960. Printed by Baynard press. Rolled. g.c.

386.          Carriage Print  Edinburgh by Sidney Causer. An atmospheric view of old Edinburgh from the top of Calton Hill. From the LNER Series. In original type frame and in excellent condition.

387.          Carriage Print  Grimsby, Lincolnshire by E.t. Holding. Very much a view of a busy working port with the docks with many steam trawlers overlooked by the Italian style tower in the background. LNEX series. In original type frame and in excellent condition.

388.          Shedplate  64A St. Margaret’s Edinburgh 1948  - Feb 1967. Face repainted a long time ago.

389.          LNER Dragon of Signals and Table of Locking. Lincoln Road dated 15.11.37. An ECML box between Tuxford North and Gamston boxes. g.c.

390.          BR(E) Signalling Notice – new double line connection between G.N. Main line and Nottingham Lincoln (ex Mid) line at Newark. Feb 1965. With pull out diagram.

391.          LNER (NE area) Excursion and Special Train Arrangements               1319 Sept 1935  32 pp. Include t/t’s of specials from Tow Law, Crook, Wearhead  32pp.

392.          Negatives: 6 x 35 mm taken at Grantham Station. 2 very nice shots of 60021 Wild Swan on passenger, nice shot of Deltic entering station – this shot shows 3 types of station lamp – The original GNR lamp posts with etched glass “Grantham”, swan neck lamps still with totem signs on the posts and the recently installed strip lamp diffusers. Also 90422 on coal train and D1513 on passenger. 1962. Good.

393.          Negatives: 6 x 35 mm of Birmingham Snow Hill 1961 2 nice photos of 6005 King George II ready to depart on Paddington express, 5076 Gladiator entering station from the West Hall (Totem sign is readable) entering on excursion, Austerity on oil tanks and 6007 King William III entering from west on express. Good.

394.          Negatives: 6 x 35 mm. Castle. 5057 at Wolverhampton Low Level. 2 of 4074 Caldicot Castle at the station, on express, 5063 entering Solihull ? and 2 of 6000 on express at Snow Hill. 1961.

395.          Negatives:  6 x 35 mm. 48064, 92011, 92095 all on up freights entering Leicester G.C. on 19.4.63 plus 44376 on down freight at Whetstone Sidings, 45450 climbing out of G.N. yard, Burton on 6.10 pm York and Hull freight, also 75041 returning light engine at Whetstone. Good quality.

396.          Negatives: 8 x 35 mm Leicester West Bridge Branch. A nice selection of varying views of 58148 on the branch goods train in April 1963. Shows the engine shunting at the coal depot and also at locations along the line. Evocative.

397.          Negatives: 6 x 35 mm shots of locos on London sheds. Nice shot of 34100 and 35019 at Nine Elms, 31789 inside shed, 31768 outside and nice shots of 5080 Defiant and 7030 Cranbrook Castle at Old Oak Common.

398.          BR(E) Diagram of Signals  Peterboro North Dated 21.1.64. Locking tables below diagram. Folded.

399.          BR(S) signal box  Diagram “Worthing” (Office copy) . Folded.

 400.       Private owner wagon plate  “Birmingham Wagon Company Owners Limited 948”. A very early plate probably from the 1880’s. Slightly domed. Unrestored. 15” x 9½”.
