BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS  & CONDITIONS OF SALE

Bidding by Phone

You may start to place bids and make enquiries on any landline telephone number from Monday 26th November. When phoning you should first register and on subsequent calls give us your name and postcode. You can place fixed bids or a higher “up to” bid and, if you are successful, we will ensure that you get the item as cheaply as possible.

Please note that although this is mainly a telephone auction, bids can be made by e-mail but must be received before the selling nights.

Postal Bids

Please use the form provided at the back of the catalogue and get it back to us as soon as possible to ensure that your bids are registered.

Bidding Units:

£2 -   £30                - £2

£30 - £100              - £5

£100 - £1000          - £10

£1000 +                  - £50

Selling Nights and Closing Times

The auction lots are divided into two halves to be sold on two nights. They are arranged into groups of 25 lots, each group followed by the telephone numbers and the final selling, or closing, time after each 15 minutes, e.g closing time 6.30 pm means the final selling time is from 6.15 pm to 6.30 pm.

No new bidders in the last 15 minutes and during this time callers must ring the correct number for a particular lot, as shown in the catalogue. One call only in the last 15 minutes and should be kept as brief as possible during these times.

Please note that no enquiries are made during closing times.

Results

You can find out whether your bids have been successful by phone between 1 pm and 9 pm on the day following the last selling night and arrange payment and delivery. Items may be sent by ordinary post, recorded delivery, special delivery, delivered to certain railway auction/events, collected from Dunchurch, and in certain cases, delivered personally. There will be a charge depending on the type of delivery.

Conditions of Lots

As most lots will be unseen by bidders, we do try to describe the items in the catalogue as accurately as possible. If you would like further information about any items, please phone as early as possible before the selling nights. However, if you feel that any lot which you have bought falls short of the catalogue description, we will guarantee a full refund.
