First Turf Cut Thursday 11th Oct. 1883. Descriptive
Account of the undertaking with map, pass notices, etc. all in
gold tooling on red leather covers of Commemorative book. Inside
the title page has illustration of loco “Tilbury”. On second
page an ornate notice that “A Special Train will leave Fenchurch
St at 12 o-clock for Rainham whence guests will be conveyed in
carriages to Upminster.” Enclosed photo of the silver ceremonial
spade on its ornate wheelbarrow. Lists of menus, toasts,
programme of music, plan of tables and newspaper reports.

Unusual cast brass wagonplate
“Notice when wagons are running over British Railway systems,
this handle must be pushed in to fully expose the letter P and
then wired to the lashing eye. This is on the left part of the
plate with the French version on the right. 9⅛” x 2½”.

diagrams of “LMS Signalling Model”. A very interesting and
uncommon publication. Grey covers with “Signalling Model” and
LMS embossed.
