417.        Poster.  B.R. (M) “The Eastgate, Chester.” (by Claude Buckle – though not signed by him).  A very attractive and colourful street scene with many people browsing in shop windows. Very 1950’s feel. In the small “See Britain by Train.” format of 30” x 20”.  B.R. “totem” at bottom.  Printed by Baynard Press. Rolled and in V.G. condition.

477.        Southern Railway enamel doorplate “Private”.  6¼” x 18”. Has come out of a frame as green paint still on edges. G.C. with no chips.

478.        Bridge Reports. Midland Railway (crossed out in ink with LMS) Bedford to Hitchin line No. 12 (Rival Ival) near Henlow to No. 23 (Peacocks Bridge) near Southill.  Gives the names of Bridges (e.g. 19A Whitbread’s Cart Rd., 20 – Yew Tree) together with detailed full particulars with dates of construction and other details. Thus 19A – “This bridge is not under or over Railway, but was erected, is owned, and maintained by M.R. Co.”)

481.        Shedplate 15C. Leicester Midland 1948 – Sept., 1963, Kettering from Sept., 1963 – June 1965. Possible face repainted a long time ago.

482.        Loco Worksplate. Sentinel 9572/1954. Ex works 24.5.54, a four wheeled vertical boiler steam loco. New to N.C.B. Great Mountain Colliery, then to Cynheidre Colliery before 5/62.  Finally to Graig Merthyr Colliery sometime between 9/66 and 4/67. Scrapped 9/1968.  Cast brass 5⅛” x 4”. Nice ex loco cond. with red painted background.

483.        Cast-iron bridgeplate. “L & N. W.R. Co. 5” Earlier type with thinner lettering and ampersand.  The number is somewhat pitted.  Repainted.

525.        Carriage Print. Glen Tanner, near Aboyne, Aberdeenshire by Lance Cattermole, R.O.I.  A colourful view with wooded hillside in background, a barn in foreground and large country residence in middle distance.  In original type frame in very good condition.

526.        Carriage Print. Melrose Abbey, Roxburghshire by Leonard Squirrell. An early evening view with the dramatic ruins dominating the background and couple walking a dog across meadows. Unframed and in mint condition.

538.        G.N.R. Carriage Photochrome Panels.  (a) Skegness  (b) Cromer.  Fine Edwardian views. Some staining to the card mount on Cromer though picture unaffected.  Oval 7½” x 9¾”

539.        B.R. (Sc.) totem “Cumberland Street”. Light blue, fully flanged. 2 crease repairs, several other chips (not affecting lettering). Could be improved.  An uncommon Central Glasgow totem.
