228.        (Caledonian Railway) Enamel Signal Box Nameboard. “Madderty” makers name Falkirk Iron Co. bottom r.h. corner.  White writing on dark blue enamel.  Good colour. Some edge chips but lettering mainly unaffected.  Situated between Perth and Crieff, closed in mid 1960’s.

230.        B.R. (W) fishtail cap badge.  “Guard”. Brown enamel/nickel. Good.

231.        L.N.E.R. (Southern area) signalling instruction. Colour lights between Clapton Junction and Chingford. 12.1.38,  6 pp. with pull-out diagram.

232.        Unmounted transfer. Ruston & Hornsby ornate Coat of Arms in centre of Lincoln and Grantham. Decorative surround. Gold Leaf. Would suit restorer of stationery engine. G

Light green background with the gothic cathedral standing out in white behind a very ornate wrought iron gateway, which makes for a very effective poster, one of a series commissioned from the prominent poster artist in the early 1970’s.  40” x 25” V.G. Rolled.

242.        B.R (S) d/r Poster. Dover Castle by Reginald Lander.  The castle appears mainly white against an olive green background with trees and foliage in black.  The whole effect makes for a very striking poster.  Rolled. V.G.  40”x 25.

243.        B.R (S) d/r Poster. Visit Arundel Castle by Reginald Lander. Dark green background with the famous castle depicted in white, as though floodlit.  Woods and riverbank shaded black with a white shimmer on the river and cabin cruisers.  Attractive. Rolled, G. 40” x 25”.

272.        Plymouth area negatives late 40’s early 50’s, 30 negatives around Plymouth Friary, Plymstock, Turnchapel branch showing engines, stations, sheds, etc.

273.        Carriage Print., Loch Lomond by Rowland Hilder. A fine view looking northwards with a steamer on the lake with Ben Lomond towering above.  Birch trees with golden autumnal leaves in foreground. A rare Pre-War print. Unframed and in mint condition.

274.        Carriage Print, Yorkshire Dales by Rowland Hilder. Stone cottages nestling around the ancient church contrast with the bleak empty moors in the background. A very attractive view.  A very rare Pre-War print, unframed and in mint condition.

275.        Carriage Print, Brightlingsea by Rowland Hilder. A Pre-War view of old-fashioned fishing boats at low tide and an old tramp steamer in the background. Use of darker shades and shadows typical of Hilder’s work.  Rare, unframed and in mint condition.

276.        Cast-iron notice. “London Midland & Scottish Railway. Notice as to Trespassing.” 1.8.1924. 9 lines of text.  In fine unrestored condition. Ex old Knott End Railway.  L.M.S. c.i signs are uncommon.

Hull (Paragon Street) Station Arrival and Departure of trains July 1st 1888 u.f.n. 67 departures and 65 arrivals on weekdays. 11 departures and 12 arrivals on Sundays.  “Passengers should be at the Station at least Ten Minutes before the advertised Time of Starting.  Greenwich Time is kept at all the Stations on the above line.” Interesting survivor.  13¼” x 8¼”. Some light foxing but good for its age.

310.        B.R. (W) Signal Box Diagram. Radyr Junction (office copy) dated 24.7.59. Folded. 26” x 90” One or two tears along folds.

311.        Brass Tyers tablet. Smeaton Jct. – Bog Sidings. An ex N.B.R. Section to the east of Edinburgh on the branch line to Gifford.  The inscription has been lightly scored thru by local S & T, but is still very readable.

312.        B.R. (Sc.) Acme Thunderer whistle marked on side B.R. (Sc.) Good condition. Not particularly common.
