301*    Enamel Advertising sign “Spratt’s Ovals mixed or standard Build up a Dog with Spratt’s”, black on white enamel with “Spratts” in shape of Scottie dog & in very good condition – 30” x 12”.

 

302*    Unflanged enamel sign with white script on dark green background “TO VICARAGE LANE, TO GRANGE HILL L.N.E.R. STATION”, referring to the ex GER station on the Woodford to Newbury Park suburban branch, since 1948 part of the LT Central Line. Excellent colour & shine with edge chips only – 16” x 4”.

 

303*    Headboard “RED DRAGON” on curve with dragon emblem above. Made from cast alloy & painted. The fixings at the back suggest it was not carried but it certainly is an attractive item & it has age to it - 53” across.

 

304*    BR(M) fully flanged TOTEM “LONG BUCKBY”, from the ex LNWR station on the Northampton loop. Good colour & shine with a few edge chips & slight mottling.

 

305     SHEDPLATE “37A”, Ardsley 1949-56, in ex loco condition.

 

306*    Small square wall mounted lamp with glass marked “3264”. Complete with vessel but no burner. Unusual.

 

307*    Early 3rd Class Carriage Door possibly LBSCR complete with window – totally unrestored with transfer “3” on inside & out. Good decorative item – 72” x 24”. Buyer collects.

 

308*    GER Signal box name board “SAWBRIDGEWORTH”, wood with cast iron letters from the former GER station south of Bishops Stortford. Restored & in excellent condition – 90” x 12”. Buyer collects.

 

309*    LBSCR large copper Signal lantern including its “LBSCR” marked Welch Patent internal lamp which is complete with its vessel & burner. A superb item standing 19” tall & would grace any railway room.

 

310     LT QR poster map 1962 “London’s Transport Systems” by B G Lewis, showing Underground Rail & Bus routes, in good condition - with folds

 

311*    BR(S) QR 1962 Pictorial POSTER map “ The Channel Islands” by F Griffin in good condition - with folds.

 

312     BR(M) QR Pictorial POSTER map “North Wales” by D W Burley in good condition - with folds.

 

313*    BR(W) DR letterpress POSTER “Western Region Car Tourist Services to Devon & Cornwall”. A colourful poster produced in 1959 with BR totem logo at base. Good rolled condition.

 

314     BR(W) DR letterpress POSTER “Holiday Runabout Tickets in the Cornish Riviera”. Issued in 1950 & with BR totem logo at top it gives names of places that can be visited with one of these tickets. Excellent rolled condition.

 

315*    S&D JT full title small letterpress POSTER “Loiterers frequenting the Committee’s premises will be treated as Trespassers….”, dated March 1929 & in very good condition – 17” x 11”.

 

316*    GWR Staff Association solid silver medal with enameled face “GWR Staff Association”, and the rear engraved to show that it was presented for “Flat Green Bowls 1946”.

 

317*    SR small wooden split case block bell with large mushroom shaped bell. Very good condition, lightly restored.

 

318*    BR(Sc) fully flanged TOTEM “BURNTISLAND” from the ex NBR station on the Firth of Forth. Good colour & shine with one well-matched repair in the top edge.

 

319*    SR wooden destination fingerboard with metal reinforced ends  “HASLEMERE, GUILDFORD AND WATERLOO” in totally ex Station condition & probably from Petersfield station – 48” x 5”.

 

320*    BR(S) flanged enamel station sign “GOODS OFFICE”, with feathered arrow & Southern in totem at the top. Very good colour & shine with one chip repair in the centre. A rare sign – 24” x 18”

 

321     Enamel advertising sign “HAVANA CLUB”, in complex shape with cards & dice. Edge chipping only – 23” x 20” overall.

 

322*    LT Underground Northern Line enamel target station sign “SOUTH WIMBLEDON”. Virtually mint condition – 25½” square.

 

323     GWR Cast iron round base Signal finial in ex trackside condition.

 

324*    BR(Sc) flanged enamel running-in board “FAIRLIE HIGH”, from a station on the ex G&SWR branch to Largs. Faded & a bit stained with some rusting - 72” x 24”. Buyer collects.

 

325*    LMS Cast iron TENDERPLATE “M No 9189 1934”, from the tender attached to LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No (4)5095 built by Vulcan Foundry in 1935, Works No 4638. Its later sheds included Patricroft and Carnforh from where it was withdrawn in August 1968. It was cut up at Cohens, Kettering the following December. In ex loco condition – rectangular 8” x 6”.

 

326*    LT bus bonnet NUMBER PANEL “RT 2941”, Gold edged black letters on red with all fixing screws present – 29” x 6” overall with curved ends.

 

327     SR enamel trackside sign “SHUNTING BELL”. Black on white enamel in good condition with minor edge chipping – 14” x 10”.

 

328*    Cambrian Railways full title Cast iron Bridge Restriction Notice dated January 1899. A rare sign that has been well restored – 28” x 18”.

 

329     SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “9726”, a replacement in painted steel, from a GWR 8750 Class 0-6-0PT built at Swindon in December 1934 and allocated new to Old Oak Common where it remained until after nationalisation. It then moved to Southall from where it was withdrawn in June 1965 and where this plate was presumably made and fitted. It was cut up at Wards, Briton Ferry the following October. Ex loco condition - 20” x 6”.

 

330     SR Cast iron gate notices “Penalty for not shutting gate £2” – 30½” x 3” with “Shut this Gate” – 15” x 2½”. Both restored.  (2)

 

331*    BR(S) fully flanged TOTEM “CROWHURST”, from the ex SECR Sussex station on the Hastings line. Very good colour & shine with minor chip repairs but the white has turned a little pink as happened on some Southern totems.

 

332*    LNER QR POSTERBOARD heading “LNER”, with the letters enclosed in a white lined rectangle. This just the same size as on the Underground heading (lot 296) so it seems they were probably on the same London station in the 1930’s. There is some edge chipping & nibbles but overall good & a rare sign – 50” x 4¼”.

 

333     LT Underground Northern Line enamel target station sign “BOROUGH”. Good condition with damage around screw holes – 25½” square.

 

334     Single line staff “MITCHAM JUNCTION/BEDDINGTON LANE”, from an ex LBSCR section on the line to Waddon Marsh & West Croydon.

 

335*    Enamel 2 sided BUS STOP “North Western Bus Stop”, red & black on white, with some rust around mounting holes & rather dirty – 12” square.

 

336*    BR(E) Enamel flanged station sign “THIS PLATFORM FOR STATIONS TO CAMBRIDGE – OVER CROSSING FOR STATIONS TO NORWICH”. Superb colour & shine with only minor chip repairs – many possible locations for this superb sign currently mounted on mdf, but which could easily be removed - 39” x 30”. Buyer collects.

 

337*    LT enamel Target station sign “NORTH ACTON”. Red, blue & black on white background, with a few chips & some loss of shine, from the Central Line Junction station – 36” x 30”.

 

338     Pack of 60 Black & white photos of Southern Railway Steam varying sizes with dates & locations on rear. (60)

 

339     BR(E) flanged enamel station direction sign “HARLOW MILL”, with the “British Railways” totem motif & feathered directional arrow pointing right. The sign, which is in good condition overall with some well matched repairs, relates to the ex GER station on the main line from Liverpool Street to Cambridge – 28” x 13”.

 

340     SHEDPLATE “34A” Kings Cross 1949-63, in ex loco condition.

 

341*    Brass WORKSPLATE “LMS Rebuilt Derby” in ex loco condition. 10¼”x5¾”.

 

342*    BR(W) DR enamel POSTERBOARD heading “SPECIAL NOTICES”. In excellent condition with only minor chipping around 2 screw holes – 27” x 4”.

 

343*    Underground enamel flanged Street direction sign “UNDERGROUND AND STATION CAR PARK”, with feathered arrow through the target logo. An attractive & sought after sign with just a few face chips - would restore well - 25” x 10½”.

 

344*    LBSCR Cast iron square bridge restriction “ The Locomotive Act 1861 Notice is hereby given that this Bridge is Insufficient……”. The sign has been overplated at the bottom “ Southern Railway Company Waterloo Station London S.E.” The front of this very rare sign has been well restored white on red – 21½” x 20½”.

 

345*    BR(S) fully flanged TOTEM “BYFLEET & NEW HAW”, from the ex Southern station named West Weybridge until 1962. Very good condition & an unusual layout.

 

346*    GWR full title Cast iron bridge Weight restriction notice dated January 1874 re the Loco Act 1861, restored – 31” x 16”.

 

347     LSWR Bodmin & Wadebridge Railway surveyors drawings on parchment, “WADEBRIDGE STATION” 1911 16 feet to 1inch, “BOSCARNE MILL JUNCTION” 1887 North Cornwall Railway deviations 40 feet to 1inch. (2)

 

348     LNER metal cased signal block instrument with under slung bell & integral tapper. Water tower shaped – unrestored.

 

349     LNER Cast iron full title “BEWARE OF TRAINS LOOK…..”, casting 0.21 in totally ex lineside condition – 22” x 12½”.

 

350*    Ticket cupboard internal rack frame with 6 rows of 16 brass holders for packs of Edmundson tickets – 33” x 23”.

 

351     LT Underground Piccadilly Line unflanged target station sign “CALEDONIAN ROAD”, in good condition with minor chips & slight scuffing – 28” x 22”.

 

352     Southern Railway fully titled red on white enamel warning notices: (1)  “Do not stand on the roof sheeting nor place any load on it “; and (2) “Smoking Strictly Prohibited”. Both are dirty & have a couple of chips but would restore well. They are both from Godstone Station – the former is 20” x 12” & the latter 16” x 12”.   (2)

 

353     BR(S) flanged enamel station sign “LADIES ROOM”. Excellent condition & a convenient size being only 24” x 12”.

 

354     SR Brass plunger with a circular enamel plate “BURGESS HILL”, referring to an ex LBSCR main line location between Haywards Heath and Brighton. Good condition with only minimal damage to the enamel plate.

 

355     Framed & glazed CARRIAGE PRINT “School of Transport, Derby” by Kenneth Steel from the LMS Railway Architecture series. An imposing building in wooded grounds.

 

356     Framed & glazed CARRIAGE MAP “BR(E) Suburban Lines Route Diagram” produced in 1963 showing the BR(E) suburban network to Hertford North, Hitchin & Dunstable. Mint condition.

 

357*    Framed & glazed CARRIAGE PRINT “Cromford, Derbyshire” by Jack Merriott from the LMS (A) series. Superb pastel view of the village in excellent condition.

 

358     Framed & glazed CARRIAGE PRINT “London, Marble Arch” by A J Wilson from the LNER series. A pre war scene with cars making their way towards Lancaster Gate.

 

359     GWR Cast iron full title post grouping gate notice “…by 8 Vic Cap” Restored 30” x 11”.

 

360*    BR(E) fully flanged TOTEM “HADDISCOE”, from the ex GER station between Yarmouth & Lowestoft. In good condition with well repaired chipping on the black edges & with good colour but some loss of shine.

 

361*    WORKSPLATE “LNER Built 1944 SR” from a LMS Class 8F 2-8-0 built by the SR at Brighton to LNER order, LNER Class O6 Nos 7651-75/3100-24/3500-24, loaned to the LMS in 1947 becoming LMS Nos 8705-29 and later taken into BR stock as Nos 48705-29. Brass oval, 10½”x6”, in ex loco condition with the “LNER” intact. The face is stamped “W4667”.

 

362*    LSWR titled Cast iron sign “Passengers must Cross Line by Bridge”, in totally ex trackside condition – 26” x 16½”.

 

363*    BR(S) unflanged enamel Station sign “Trains to Hastings (for Ashford) and Ore” with feathered arrow white on green in the top portion & “Tunbridge Wells, Waterloo, Charing Cross, Eastbourne, Lewes, Victoria” green on a white panel with feathered arrow in the lower portion. Good overall condition with a few minor chips – 50” x 40”.

 

364*    (GWR) brass CABSIDE “9498”, from a 9400 Class 0-6-0PT built by the Yorkshire Engine Company, Works No 2552, and which went new to Tyseley in March 1955. Its other sheds in its short life were Shrewsbury & Old Oak Common. Withdrawn in September 1964 it was cut up at Birds, Risca by the end of the year. Front only restored.

 

365*    GWR wooden gradient post with Cast iron letters showing gradients of 181 & 223. Ex lineside condition – 28” x 18”.

 

366     GCR viaduct plate “374 (36)” from the 36th arch of the Great Central’s Leicester Viaduct, which spanned the River Soar and Grand Union Canal north of Leicester Central station. Restored – 13” x 12” overall with boss for top bolt.

 

367     LT underground carriage numberplate “1447” ex Northern Line stock.  White on blue background excellent condition – 5¼” x 1¼”.

 

368*    Flanged metal advertising sign “Spratts” with the name as a Scottie dog. Portrait format with 5 dogs one above the other. Black on yellow vinyl to look like enamel – 24” x 7”.

 

369*    SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “2891”, from a GWR 2884 Class 2-8-0 allocated new to Cardiff Canton in April 1938. It remained there all its working life apart from a final brief stay at Ebbw Junction from where it was withdrawn in November 1964 and was cut up at Hayes, Bridgend in February 1965. Restored.

 

370     LSWR Cast iron sign “ LSWR BEWARE OF TRAINS”, restored – 26” x 16½”.

 

371*    LT Underground black on yellow enamel signal description plate “ BUCKHURST HILL DISTANT”, from the Central Line Station North of Woodford on the line to Epping & Ongar. Very good condition – 16” x 6”.

 

372*    BR(M) small flanged enamel sign “GLASGOW”. The sign came from Euston Station & is believed to have been used for luggage area designation. Good colour & shine with some face scuffing – 26” x 5”.

 

373     LT Underground double sided enamel cab destination board “EALING BDY/ WOODFORD” as used on Central Line trains – 24” x 4”.

 

374*    BR(Sc) half flanged TOTEM “NEWTONMORE”, from the ex Highland Railway station on the main line south of Inverness. Slight mottling but good colour & shine.

 

375     SHEDPLATE “2A” Rugby, 1948-63, Tyseley 1963-66, repainted front & back some time ago.

 

376*    LMS untitled oval Cast iron sign “Electric Track Circuit No” with down pointing arrow. An unusual sign in totally ex trackside condition – 12” x 9” overall.

 

377*    Rectangular Alloy diesel WORKSPLATE “British Railways Built 1961 Crewe Power Equipment by Sulzer and Crompton Parkinson Ltd”, with “P27147” stamped on the rear, from a BR Type 4 Class 45 1Co-Co1. Locos built that year were Nos D85-D137. Front restored – 13” x 6½”.

 

378*    SR unflanged enamel Station sign re Propping up of Wagon Doors. Black on white with some chipping around the screw holes that has been poorly repainted, otherwise pretty good – 18” x 12”.

 

379     Brass single line key token “GLEN DOUGLAS/ GARELOCHEAD 24”, a southerly section of the ex North British Railway West Highland line.

 

380*    BR(S) flanged black enamel POSTERBOARD with “BRITISH RAILWAYS” in  green totem at the top. In good condition & a very unusual item – portrait shape 37” x 25”.

 

381*    LT Underground Northern Line enamel target station sign “TOOTING BROADWAY”. Virtually mint condition – 25½” square.

 

382*    Brass Plate “GWR CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER 1st FLOOR”. An unusual item hand engraved with remnants of black wax infill & reputedly from Paddington – 13” x 6”.

 

383     Irish miniature staff “GORT/ ARDRAHAN”, from an ex Waterford & Limerick Railway section on the line between Athenry & Limerick which closed to passengers in 1976.

 

384*    Advertising enamel “Prices Motor Oils”. Some damage but image good – 25” x 21”.

 

385*    Two boxed Railway games – “Coronation Scot Railway game touring Great Britain” complete with board dice shaker & 4 small Coronations in original inner & outer boxes plus Chad Valley “LOCO” or The Railway Race Game complete with board, tickets, dice, shaker & markers in original box. Both games date from the 1930’s. Both boxes are a little worn.

 

386*    BR(S) fully flanged TOTEM “HINCHLEY WOOD” from the nearest station to the auction on the Surbiton to Claygate line. Very good colour & shine with only minor edge chipping.

 

387     SR untitled Cast iron sign “STOP LOOK & LISTEN………” in totally ex lineside condition – 31” x 16”.

 

388*    SR TARGET “PUTNEY”, an ex LSWR suburban station near Richmond. A rare pattern with white edging to the top & bottom of the roundel. Good colour & shine with minor edge chip repairs.

 

389*    LMS Tinplate wagon notice “Empty to KILNHURST & THRYBURGH LM & S Rly” as used on coal wagons. In used condition – 6½” x 3”.

 

390     GNR Cast iron sign “BEWARE OF TRAINS”, casting “0.18”. Front restored 21” x 14”.

 

391     LMS Cast iron BRIDGEPLATE “LMS 66”, with front restored only – oval 18” x 11”.

 

392     LT Underground double sided enamel cab destination board “UPMINSTER/ DAGENHAM” as used on District Line trains – 24” x 4”.

 

393*    SR enamel shelf or signal instrument plate “CLAPHAM JUNCTION”, black on white enamel – 5” x 1¼”.

 

394     LNER V shaped Cast iron milepost top “35” in ex lineside condition. It stands 12” tall.

 

395*    WORKSPLATE “LMS BUILT 1937 DERBY”. Locos built at Derby that year were 2-6-2T 3P tank locos, LMS Nos.145 - 172, BR Nos. 40145 - 40172. 2-6-4T 4P tank locos, LMS Nos. 2476 - 2494, BR Nos.42476 - 42494. 0-6-0 4F tender locos, LMS Nos. 4562 - 4576, BR Nos.44562 - 44576. The oval brass plate has been repainted on the front & has 44566 chalked on the back – 10” x 6”. The date 1937 is engraved on the plate.

 

396*    LT flanged enamel Underground sign with “VAUXHALL STATION VICTORIA LINE” silver writing on white at one end & “SUBWAY” black on silver at the other end with a target logo above it.. Some chipping & needs a good clean but it is difficult to get signs relating to the Victoria Line – 62” x 18”. Buyer collects.

 

397     SHEDPLATE “3A”, Bescot 1948-60, restored some time ago.

 

398     GWR 4-aspect fogmans HANDLAMP with brass makers plate “G Polkey Ltd Birmingham”. Restored & complete with unmarked vessel & burner.

 

399     LT Underground double sided enamel cab destination board “EDGWARE/ KENNINGTON” as used on Northern Line trains – 24” x 4”.

 

400*    BR(E) half flanged TOTEM “PALACE GATES”, from the London suburban station for Alexandra Palace. In virtually mint condition & as rare & desirable as you could imagine. First appearance in public & now worth a bit more than the 5/- it cost in 1963!!.

 

401*    Enamel advertising sign “Spratt’s Bonio & Spratt’s Ovals”, yellow on blue in good condition with just some edge chipping & a small loss at the top – 30” x 20”.

 

402     GWR wooden cased Block bell with integral tapper & chromed mushroom shaped bell. Unrestored condition, ex St Dennis box on the Newquay branch in Cornwall.

 

403     SR 4 aspect fogmans HANDLAMP stamped on the side “S[B]R” and “SELHAM” (B=Brighton). Selham was a station on the ex LBSCR line from Petersfield to Pulborough and closed in 1955. Good restored condition complete with matching vessel, BR burner and red and green glasses.

 

404*    BR(S) brass cased stationary boiler thermometer, clearly marked “British Railways Southern Region”.

 

405*    Spillers enamel advertising signs “Spillers Shapes for all dogs” & “Winalot the dogs wholemeal food”. Both yellow & black on green with just minor restoration - 24” x 9½”. (2)

 

406     BR(M) station wall mounted box sign “WAY OUT”, 2-sided complete with mounting brackets, good colour & shine but a few chips on both sides – 24” x 18”.

 

407*    Enamel sign “PLEASE HAVE ALL TICKETS READY” either early Railway or Tramway. Black on white with damage around the screw holes, otherwise good – 16½” x 13”.

 

408     SR unflanged DOORPLATE “LADIES ROOM”. Minor chips around the 4 screw holes that have been added, but excellent colour & shine – 18” x 6”

 

409     SHEDPLATE “9H” Patricroft, 1963-68, in ex loco condition.

 

410*    Framed & glazed QR Poster “Western Highlands Rob Roy” by Doris Zinkeisen & published by the LNER in 1934. The poster is mounted on linen, is signed in pencil by the artist & is contained in an attractive substantial frame. TBC

 

411     BR(S) 1960 QR Poster map “Southern Main Line & Suburban Passenger Services” with totem at top. Lists all stations at base. Overall quite good with reinforcement on folds.

 

412*    BR 1965 dated QR Poster “Festiniog Railway “ by Terence Cuneo – good  folded condition with edge nicks only.

 

413*    NER full title small poster in a glazed frame “Smoking Strictly Prohibited” in 12 languages presumably from one of their ports. Unusual item – 16” x 22” portrait.

 

414*    NER wooden Railway Police Inspectors Truncheon ornately marked with “NER POLICE S” in scroll & stamped “222”. In very good used condition – 15” long.

 

415*    Enamel advertising sign “Stead & Simpson Ltd for reliable boots, Branches everywhere”, white on blue with losses around the left & bottom edges but an early sign – 24” x 12”.

 

416     Cast Iron Pressed Steel Co Ltd makers plates from Class 303 EMUs which started life as the famous Glasgow Suburban “Blue Trains”: (1) “Lot No 30579 1959” from vehicle no 75568 (EMU 303003); and (2) “Lot No 30630 1960” from vehicle no 61830 (EMU 303054). Oval, 7”x4¾”, the fronts repainted.  (2)

 

417*    BR(E) half flanged TOTEM “DOVERCOURT BAY”, from the ex GER station on the Harwich branch. Good colour & shine with minor poorly executed chip repairs – slightly bowed as are many half flanged dark blue totems.

 

418*    GWR Cast iron CABSIDE “9777”, from a 5700 Class 0-6-0 PT allocated new to Swansea East Dock in March 1936. Its later sheds were Landore and Neath from where it was withdrawn in May 1964. It was cut up at Birds, Bynea the following July. The plate is in totally ex loco condition as purchased by the vendor from Swindon in 1965.

 

419*    WORKSPLATE “BRUSH SULZER No 555 1964”, ex Class 47 D1793/47312 which started life at Tinsley in December 1964. It was later named “Parsec of Europe” at Hams Hall Euro Terminal by John Prescott in July 1997. Unfortunately it caught fire at Dollands Moor in February 1999 & so was withdrawn & cut up in April 2003. Alloy oval with front repainted – 9½” x 5½”.

 

420     Framed & glazed CARRIAGE PRINT “Bramham Cross,Yorkshire” by Kenneth Steel from the LNER post war series. A print not seen for a while.

 

421*    Framed & glazed GWR Photochrom CARRIAGE PANEL “Muckrose Abbey, Killarney”. A colour tinted photographic panel produced by Photocrom for the GWR in the 1890s. A view of the Irish ruins clad in ivy. The panel is in excellent condition.
 

422     Framed & glazed CARRIAGE PRINT “Lambeth Bridge” by Kenneth Steel. An attractive view of the Thames with the Houses of Parliament & Westminster Abbey.

 

423     Framed & glazed CARRIAGE PRINT “South Portals of Primrose Hill Tunnels, London“ by Claude Buckle from the LMS Railway Architecture series. Superb painting of the magnificent architecture – slight creasing on print.

 

424*    Framed & glazed CARRIAGE PRINT “Blakeney, Norfolk” by Acanthus from the LNER series in his attractive pastel style. A rare print.             

 

425     Alloy single line key token “ONLLWYN/ CRYNANT”, a section of the ex Neath & Brecon Railway branch from Neath to Colbren Junction.

 

426     Northampton & Banbury Junction Railway framed & glazed Time Table from 1st July 1901 until further notice giving details of the four trains that ran each day between Banbury & Euston. Good condition – 22” x 18”.

 

427     LT Underground carriage numberplate “11046”, from a 1938 tube stock driving motor car. Red, white & blue in target shape, with minor chipping – 5½” x 2¾”.

 

428*    BR(M) fully flanged TOTEM “FOUR OAKS”, an ex LNWR station on the line from Birmingham New Street to Lichfield City. No face chips but somewhat mottled & with damage to three flange mounting holes.

 

429*    Stanford’s Map of “Metropolitan Railways Tramways & other Improvements” issued for the 1904 session. In book form & folds out to a coloured map on Linen of the Metropolitan area. 430     SR enamel warning sign “NOT TO BE MOVED”, red on white pattern to attract attention. Good condition – 12” square.

 

431*    BR(E) small galvanized milk churn, complete with top & embossed “BR(E)”. A very manageable size being only 16” tall.

 

432     GNR fully titled Cast iron bridge restriction notice with the front only very well restored – 27” x 19”.

 

433     LT Underground large unflanged enamel station destination board showing the entire Central Line. Fairly good condition with a few incomplete chip repairs, from HAINAULT station – 64” x 32”. Buyer collects.

 

434*    Engine room door from 08 Class diesel shunter “08698”. In original blue paint & with Cockney sparrow wearing drivers cap in centre – 46” x 34”.

 

435     SHEDPLATE “83E”, St Blazey 1949-62, then Yeovil Town 1963-65. A very rare code only once previously in auction in 1989. In totally ex loco condition as obtained in 1965.

 

436     SR Cast iron full title 40/- trespass notice in totally ex trackside condition – 24” x 16”.

 

437*    LBSCR/SR Signal Box Board “DEPTFORD WHARF SOUTH” from a box on the south bank of the Thames. Wood with Cast iron letters in lovely ex box condition – 105” x 9”. Buyer collects.

 

438     LT Underground double sided enamel cab destination board “NORTHFIELDS/ ACTON TOWN” as used on Piccadilly Line trains – 24” x 4”.

 

439     Box of 120 Black & white photos of goods wagons, guards vans, cranes etc- all 5½” x 4” image.

 

440     BR(E) unflanged enamel station sign “Passengers Cross the line by the Footbridge Only”, a bit mottled & with edge chipping – 36” x 24”.

 

441*    LBSCR original wooden notice board with pasted fully titled notice, which warns workers in the Engineers Dept that they will be dismissed if they take any wood, useless or otherwise. It is dated May 1904 & is in a condition commensurate with its age.

 

442*    BR(S) fully flanged TOTEM “LOWER SYDENHAM”, from the ex SECR station between Catford Bridge & New Beckenham. Excellent condition with great colour & shine – last time in auction in 1997.

 

443*    GWR  Cast iron CABSIDE “7428” from a 7400 class 0-6-0PT which entered traffic at Ebbw Junction in June 1937. Its later sheds were Stourbridge, Croes Newydd and Machynlleth from where it was withdrawn in October 1962. It was cut up at Cashmores, Great Bridge in June 1964. Repainted some time ago with gold numbers & red edges.

 

444      BR(M) station enamel frieze panel being one end section of a station fascia sign. The sign is flanged, apart from one end where it would have attached to the centre station name panel, & has a large totem “BRITISH RAILWAYS” in the centre – 54” x 20”.

 

445*    LMS silver plated Salt Pot engraved “LMS E.D.C”, unrestored standing 3 ½” tall.

 

446     GWR Cast iron full title post grouping gate notice “by 8 Vic Cap.” Unrestored 30” x 11”.

 

447     LMS Cast iron oval bridgeplate “LMS 89”, with four extra holes for mounting, restored – 17” x 11” overall.

 

448*    LT Underground Carriage map “METROPOLITAN LINES” with “London Transport Underground” in target in a modern glazed frame – 26” x 10”.

 

449*    LT Underground frieze enamel “COVENT GARDEN” with blue edges for the Piccadilly line & with only minor chipping & scuffing – 59” x 9”.

 

450     BTC full title enamel 40/- trespass notice. Black on white in good condition but with chips around the screw holes – 15” x 12”.
