BR(W) Totem
TORQUAY
BR(W) unflanged double sided black & white totem "TORQUAY" from
the South Devon seaside station. These totems are unique as this
was the only station equipped with the plastic variety. Plenty
of marks from use & bracket marks to show how it was hung.
(There is a picture in Dave Brennand’s excellent book of this or
a similar totem in situ on the station). |

Three London Underground glass plates that were used to direct
passengers to main line stations. Black background "FOLLOW THE
ARROW" – 26" x 3.5" Blank 6" x 4" & "EUSTON" brown background
with diagonal arrow – 6" x 4". All formed with 2 glass plates

totem, which had no face chips but was rather faded, has been re
enamel sprayed to look very good. A very rare totem having had
only one outing in auction in 1994. |
