452 Two TINPLATE NOTICES issued by the Railway Passenger Assurance Company  - one 7½” x 9½” - “INSURANCE TICKETS ON SALE HERE” and the other 7” x 5” - “YOU CAN INSURE YOUR LUGGAGE HERE”. Both in good condition. (2) £20
453 Cast Iron SMOKEBOX  NUMBERPLATE “90485” from an ex WD 2-8-0 built by Vulcan works number 5097 in 1944 WD78696. A much travelled engine allocated at Tyne Dock, Malton, York, Immingham, Oxley, Banbury, Southall, both Gloucester sheds, Worcester, Carmarthen, Reading Cardiff Canton, Banbury, Mexborough and Canklow. Withdrawn August 1964 and cut up at Wards Killamarsh by the end of the year. The plate has been restored front and back. £410

459 GWR SOUVENIR BOOKLET for the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1924. Tied together with a bowed ribbon the twenty-page booklet has colour pictures within and a map at the back. Good condition with some foxing. £30

462 GWR 8” roundhead mahogany fusee CLOCK. On the left hand side is the original ivorine plate number “GWR 1128”. This attractive small clock is in full working order and was originally purchased by the vendor from collectors corner. BTC £2100

468 Eastern Counties Railway RULE BOOK. Poor condition with the first few pages missing but very interesting. The Eastern Railway became part of the Great Eastern Railway in 1862 and this rulebook must date between 1836 and 1862. £20
469 Collection of four LNER booklets from the Holidays series. Titles are:- “Nidderdale and Wharfedale”, “Durham County”, “Wensleydale and Swaledale”, “Fifeshire and Forfarshire”. All have the covers a little marked but the contents and area maps are in good condition. (4) £22

472 BR(W) Half Flanged TOTEM “BOURNE END” from the Bucks junction station for the Marlow branch. Good colour and shine in totally ex station condition with some face and edge chipping. This is one of the earlier Chocolate and cream totems that were later replaced by the experimental black and white ones. £660
473 LSWR Brass SIGNAL BOX PLUNGER with brass circular plate “PRESS 3 SECONDS” in ex box condition. This would also make an interesting front door bell push. £60
474 Alloy SHEDPLATE “83D” used by LAIRA for its allocation of diesels up to September 1963 and then Exmouth Junction until its closure in 1973. Unrestored with the front in red and traces of green on the edges.  £115
475 Alloy NAMEPLATE “CHATEAU - THIERRY” from a French electric Locomotive “BB15021”. The loco was built at Alsthom in 1975, named in June 1976 and allocated to the Strasbourg depot. The plates were removed in 2002. Chateau Thierry is a small town to the East of Paris. The plate, which is in totally ex loco condition, is 18” x 25” overall and the makers name and lot number are cast in the back. This would make a very attractive addition to any collection. 476 Three LP RECORDS of steam. Transacord “North of Kings Cross” with A4 60015 on the cover, “The triumph of an A4 Pacific” with A4 60022 on the front covering a journey by Sir Nigel Gresley in May 1959 when it reached 112 mph, “LNER Flyer” being recordings of a Special Train in May 1964 pulled by A3 Flying Fox. The journey was from Kings Cross to Doncaster and comes with a leaflet by the Gresley Society giving details of the journey. All appear to be in good condition but the second one has damaged written on the cover. (3) £10
477 BR(S) TOTEM “SOUTHERN” with a wooden frame and pressed tin raised letters. A large station sign that has had the wood restored but the metal letters, which stand 1½” high and 5½” in length are as found. The sign is similar to ones found at goods yards, with an overall measurement of 72” x 18”. BTC £200
478 SR 1929 pocket sized Booklet of Summer trips OXFORD to KINGSTON by SALOON STEAMERS giving timetables of various possible rail and steamer trips. Excellent condition. £12

480 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “ALLERTON” from the Cheshire station between Liverpool and Widnes. Overall good condition with good colour and shine and edge chips only. However it has a 2” cutout on the top and bottom flanges, presumably to go round an obstruction. A rare totem and much better than the only other one offered since 1990. £470
481 Cast Iron NAMEPLATE “DUNGANNON” possibly ex a traction engine but we have no evidence of this. The plate is 16” x 4” with rounded ends and four small fixing holes. £200
482 Enamel black on white DOORPLATE “PARCELS”. An old plate possibly GWR in origin and probably hung on two hooks. Retouched edges otherwise very good – 11” x 2¾” with rounded ends. £12
483 SR CARRIAGE GENERAL SYSTEM MAP showing all lines in the South of England.  Dates from 1930/40’s and has some water staining at the bottom. Presented In its original carriage print frame – 27” x 11”. £35

511 SHEDPLATE “71A” EASTLEIGH. Unrestored with a clear BR(S) Eastleigh triangle. £160
512 GWR Brass CABSIDE “2813” from a Class 2800 2-8-0 tender engine. It was allocated new to Severn Tunnel Junction in November 1905. It led a long and busy life with its final sheds being Pontypool Rd, Severn Tunnel Junction, Worcester, Cardiff Canton and Aberdare. The loco was withdrawn in November 1960 and cut up at Swindon Works by the following April. The front was possibly repainted some time ago. BTC £1750
513 Glass DISPLAY JAR that would have stood on the sweet shop counter in the 1920/30’s full of Chewing Gum. Comes with its alloy top with “Take Your Change in Beech Nut” on the top and “Beech Nut” on the side. Good condition circular with diameter of 5” and stands 10” high. BTC n/s
514 Aveling Porter Brass makers emblem “PRANCING HORSE” as found on their traction engines - unrestored and presented on a wooden backboard – 15” x 8” overall. £65
515 Alloy single line KEY TOKEN “PWELLHELI EAST / PENYCHAIN” from an ex Cambrian section in N W Wales that ended at the famous holiday camp with its unique coloured totems. £220
516 BR(W) Half Flanged TOTEM “REDRUTH” from the ex GWR Cornish main line station between Truro & Penzance. Good condition with good colour and shine and just edge chip and a couple of small well-matched face chip repairs. £1500
517 BLW WORKSPLATE “BLW THE BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS 72871 Phila USA Sept 1946 as carried by a SNCF 2-8-2 141-R loco. This was an American designed mixed traffic loco for the post war system. Many of these lasted to the end of steam in 1972. Restored, five sided convex plate designed to be carried on the boiler– 14½” x 9¾” overall. £300
518 LNER TOWEL – white with “LNER” in red band across centre. Appears to be two joined together – perhaps antimacassars? Some fading and marks on the white – 24” x 17”. n/s
519 SR TARGET “POOLE” from the ex LSWR coastal station to the West of Bournemouth. Good colour and shine with some well-matched repairs around the screw holes. £800
520 Alloy single line KEY TOKEN “BODMIN / BODMIN ROAD” from a section of the ex GWR Cornish branch line, closed in 1967, which left the main line to Penzance between Lostwithiel and Liskeard and ran to Bodmin General. The key has a replacement end. £150
521 SHEDPLATE  “86B” NEWPORT PILL then Ebbw Junction. Unrestored front and back. £170
522 CRUCHLEYS Railway map of the County of BERKSHIRE. Dated January 1st 1855.  It folds out to 22” x 20” & shows all the Railways & Stations in the County. Good condition overall with slight browning on the folds and slight loss where folds meet. £30
523 BR Double Royal POSTER “DAOLGOCH STATION on the TALLYN RAILWAY” by Cuneo. The Poster has a number of tears (some repaired) and has been folded – however if framed up it would be quite passable. £10
524 BR(W) Flanged enamel STATION SIGN “PLATFORM 1”. Good colour and shine with a number of unrestored face chips. £30
525 BR(S) Alloy STATION DIRECTION SIGN “BRITISH RAILWAYS JUNCTION STATION” and a left pointing arrow embossed in the sign. This item came with the other Barnstable items and is believed to have been located near the town bridge. Barnstaple Town station closed in 1970 so it probably came down at that time. Good used condition – 30” x 9”. Not seen in this style before. £760
