239 Brass Plate from ROYAL TRAIN SERVICE, engraved “HIS MAJESTY CROWN SERVICE Table Knives Forks & Spoons”. The plate came from one of the boxes of Cutlery and Crockery that went with the Royal family when traveling by train. Rectangular with scalloped corners with plenty of knocks – 5” x 2½”. Unusual. £95

244 BR(S) Flangeless enamel STATION DIRECTION SIGN “COLYTON STATION” with “SOUTHERN” in totem above and feathered arrow below. The ex LSWR station is on the branch from Seaton Junction to Seaton and although the line closed in 1966 the station remains and is now is the Northern terminus for a tram link, run as the Seaton & District Tramway, into Seaton. A rare sign having good colour and shine and just some chipping around the screw holes – 52” x 12”. TBC £760
245 GWR thick rectangular glass BATTERY CASE with “GWR” etched on the side. The battery would have been used in an early carriage. The top has been removed to make a usable flower vase/goldfish bowl – stands 17” tall with base 10½” x 7”. £15
246 BR(W) Unflanged TOTEM “LITTLE KIMBLE” from the Bucks station between Aylesbury and Princes Risborough. This is the early design face drilled with differences to the curvature and only found on four stations. The totem has been mounted on a wooden backboard and has good colour and shine with well-matched repairs around four of the screw holes. Rare totem being one of only three on the station. £860

270 Station Dining Room wall mounted CIGARETTE MACHINE dating back to the 1930’s for “JEFFERY CIGARETTES DAY & NIGHT” with packets at 2d or 6d. Attractive machine, which lights up when attached to the mains (check wiring first!).The overall size is 35” tall by 11” wide and 5” deep and the machine, which is in very good condition, comes complete with its key. 275 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM “GREENHITHE” from the Kent station on the line from Dartford to Gravesend. Until this totem was dug up it was not known that this station had totems – presumably used for a platform extension with targets still in use for the rest of the station. A black edged totem with good colour and shine - a few rust holes expertly restored to look very good. Probably the only survivor. £910

276 GWR brass hand engraved SHELFPLATE “To Ironstone Branch Main Line” from Banbury, with the branch being between Banbury Junction and Cropredy boxes. Ex box condition with remnants of wax infill – 4¾” x 1½”. £370
277 LNER Cast Iron SEATBACK “CONSTABLE BURTON” from the ex NER station on the line from Hawes to Northallerton. The station closed in April 1954. Good condition with front only restored – 50” x 4½”. TBC £2150
278 GWR Brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “6846” as carried by GWR 4-6-0 Grange Class locomotive “RUCKLEY GRANGE”. The loco was allocated new to Salisbury in October 1937 and entered the British Railways era at Bristol St. Philip’s Marsh and would have been there to its withdrawal but, due to the end of steam at this shed, it moved to the other Bristol shed, Barrow Road, for its last three months. Withdrawn in September 1964, it had been cut up at Hayes Bridgend by the end of the year. The cabside has been very attractively face restored and polished with the back ex loco. TBC £1950
279 GNR large PLATFORM LAMP TOP with the station name “LANGRICK” in the top panel. Langrick station was on the ex GNR Boston to Lincoln line and was closed in 1963. The lamp comes with its burner, reservoir and reflector but is sadly missing its globe. Interestingly the reservoir is plated CONINGSBY from a station a few miles up the road where the lines met at Woodhall Junction. The lamp is restored and stands 26” tall. TBC £460

281 BR(E) fold out booklet for DONCASTER LOCOMOTIVE WORKS produced in the early 1950’s to be given to visitors. The booklet,  which describes the principal shops, folds out to 16” x 8” – excellent condition. £45
282 LBSCR Silver Plated MILK JUG used on the Newhaven to Dieppe service, which is engraved in garter on the side with the shipping flag in the centre. Good used condition with a few small dents – stands 4” high. £60

284 M&GN enamel STATION SIGN “TO YARMOUTH” with pointing hand, attractively displayed in a modern glazed frame. The sign is clearly of a great age but is in excellent condition apart from the blue being a bit faded where it has been exposed to the elements. Reputedly from Melton Constable station - 32” x 10” overall. £250
285 LMS Cast Iron oval WORKSPLATE “LMS BUILT 1945 HORWICH“. The LMS has been ground off but the plate has been face restored and LMS painted back in. Chalked on the rear is “44948” which is quite possible. £70
286 Alexandra & Newport Docks Railway oval Cast Iron BUILDING NUMBER “ADR87” probably from a warehouse. Unrestored – 6” x 4” overall. £80
287 LNER style five foot STATION BENCH with two Cast Iron supports (knotted wood effect) and three rails. The bench has been restored with new hard wood slats and the supports repainted in Scottish blue. The top panel has been ground out to take an LNER seatback of 39½” long. Disassembled for ease of transport and comes with new galvanized fixing bolts. TBC £250

294 SR Leather DOCUMENT CASE from Southampton Docks. The case has an attached double-sided engraved brass transfer label showing that it was used for the transfer of accounting documents between the Shipping Traffic Office on the former LSWR station at Southampton Docks and the centralized accounts office at Southampton Terminus. The case is in good condition and is open but lacks its key - 13” x 19”. n/s

299 BR(Sc) Flanged enamel DOORPLATE “LEFT LUGGAGE”. Virtually mint condition with just two tiny chips – 18” x 3½”. £180
300 LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE “LIGHTNING” from Britannia Class 70019.  Built at Crewe in 1951 as one of a batch of 15 locos named after earlier famous GWR broad gauge locomotives, 70019 went new to Newton Abbot in July 1951 and was the first Britannia to
work into Cornwall on 28th Aug 1951 on the Cornish Riviera Express. It was then a Laira engine for a while until all the Western Britannias went to Cardiff Canton in 1956. Lightning was transferred to Carlisle Kingmoor in September 1961 and before withdrawal in March 1966 it was also allocated to Crewe North and Carlisle Upperby.
After some months in storage at Kingmoor it was cut up at West of Scotland Shipbreaking Co Troon during the summer of the following year. A very attractive plate face restored only and certainly one of the best names – 35” x 6”. TBC
