1 BR(W) Flanged enamel Station Direction sign “BOWBRIDGE CROSSING HALT” with British Railways in totem, from the Stroud Valley station South of Gloucester. A tiny station and probably the only item you could get with the station name on from this sought after area. Good colour with some loss of shine and face repairs particularly to the top right corner – displays well 28” x 13”. £2050
2 LNER Cast Iron SEATBACK “AIRDRIE” from the Lanarkshire station to the East of Glasgow. Totally ex seat condition with white letters on blue background  – 25½” x 4¼”. £260
3 Alloy single line KEY TOKEN “THORVERTON / STOKE CANON JCN”, a section of the ex GWR Devon line from Exeter to Tiverton that closed in 1963. £490
4 SR TARGET “KIDBROOKE” from the South East London suburban station. Good colour and shine with a number of well-matched face and edge repairs and some staining. £180
5 BR(S) ROYAL TRAIN NOTICE  “Waterloo to Southampton New Docks on 5th August 1961”. Four-sided booklet produced to inform all concerned of the changes necessary to facilitate this journey by Queen Elizabeth II. The loco was 34089 BB Class 602 Squadron. £15
6 PAPERWEIGHT formed in solid silver around a piece of high-tension cable. The hall marked silver is engraved “Electrification of Suburban Railways High Tension Transmission Cable 20,000 volts Equivalent carrying capacity 6,000 Horse Power”. Very unusual heavy item – diameter 7” and stands 2” high. £65
7 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “BLUNDELLSANDS & CROSBY” from  the Lancashire station to the North of Liverpool. Good colour with some loss of shine and one small well-matched face chip repair. A rare totem last in auction in 1996. £760
8 SR CARD BOOKLET for the naming ceremony of Merchant Navy Class loco “21C2 UNION CASTLE” at Victoria Station on 4th July 1941 by Mr R F Gigg. The booklets were given to invited guests. Good condition with a small tear on the fold. Comes with an official photo of the ceremony. (2) £80
9 LNWR enamel LUNCHEON HAMPER PLATE “REFRESHMENT ROOMS ADDISON ROAD” in pretty good condition considering its age. Addison Road was on the GWR & LNWR West London line and was renamed Kensington Olympia in 1946, so this plate must predate the change – 7¾” x 3¾”. £110
10 CRUCHLEYS Railway map of the County of LINCOLN - undated but about 1855. It folds out to 22” x 20” and shows all the railways and stations in the County. Good condition overall with slight browning on the folds. £45
11 CARRIAGE PRINT “CROMER NORFOLK” by F Baldwin – an attractive view of the beach with the town in the background. In good condition and presented in an original type glazed frame – 21” x 11”. £75
12 BR(W) 1968 Original unframed  SIGNAL BOX DIAGRAM  “JOHNSTON” from the Junction for Milford Haven and Neyland. Cloth backed with cutouts and in excellent condition – 120” x 26”. £110
13 LNER Oval Brass WORKSPLATE “ London & North Eastern Railway 9207 Cowlairs Works 1923” .As carried by the ex NBR Class A 0-6-2 Tank, NBR 23, built at Cowlairs in November 1923. The loco finally ended up as Class N15 number 69207. It worked all over Scotland ending up at Polmadie from where it was withdrawn in February 1960 and was cut up the next month at Cowlairs. Face cleaned only –9” x 5”. £180
14 Brass London Chatham & Dover Railway ARMBAND “TOWN RAILWAY PORTER No 5” ex Dover station. Hand Engraved and comes with its original leather straps. A rare survivor – convex with curved ends lightly face polished - 6½” x 4” overall. £250

17 BR(E) Half Flanged TOTEM “MILLHOUSES & ECCLESALL” from the Yorkshire station just South of Sheffield. Very good colour & shine with a couple of face chips on the lower flange and a V shaped cutout to the centre of the top flange – presumably done to fit around a pipe. A rare totem. £1250
18 SHEDPLATE 73D GILLINGHAM (Kent). This is the first of what must one of the best collections of Southern shedplates ever assembled in one auction. Unrestored with clear BR(S) Eastleigh triangle on the back. £760
19 LNER Cast Iron DOORPLATE “PORTERS”. The sign has been very attractively face restored in brown and white – 17” x 3½”. £90
20 SR fold over card programme for the Docks and Marine Dept second annual staff gathering. This being a Smoking Concert to be held at the Coliseum Southampton on February 10th 1923. Good condition. £12
21 LNER three aspect HANDLAMP with large brass plate “LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY SAFFRON WALDEN”. The lamp is in good unrestored condition and comes complete with BR vessel and burner. Saffron Walden is an ex GER station South of Cambridge. £210
22 DAVID MACBRAYNE map of routes ARDRISHAIG to OBAN and GOUROCK to ARDRISHAIG. Folds out to 22” x 8½” – excellent condition. £20
23 LT Underground FRIEZE PANEL end plate “PICCADILLY LINE” with Piccadilly Line in target and with blue border. A small screw hole chip otherwise very good condition – 24” x 9”. £60
24 LT Underground enamel CAB DESTINATION BOARD with metal ends, double sided “HOUNSLOW / BOW ROAD”. A rather odd pairing with one on the Piccadilly line in the West and the other on the District/Metropolitan in the East. It is also longer than usual at 28½”. £55
25 Industrial brass NAMEPLATE “VULCAN” from a Manning Wardle 0-6-0 inside cylinder Saddle Tank with works number 1577 which went new to Ackton Hall Colliery Co Ltd,  Featherstone in 1902. It was still there in 1970 as Ackton Hall No.4 (by which time it was by far the oldest stock loco in the NCB's North Yorkshire area), when it was finally decommissioned. The Nameplate, which is in totally ex loco condition was purchased for £1.25 in 1971 and comes with receipts and a 7” x 5” b/w photo of the loco - 24” x 6½”.  £700

33 LBSCR large four aspect HANDLAMP ex LONDON BRIDGE. This superb lamp is complete with its original vessel stamped “LB & SCR” and SR burner. The coloured glasses are intact and the body is stamped “LONDON B” “No 1012LB”. Under this marking is “LBSCR” and on the other side is a superb LBSCR oval brass plate. The top is also stamped “LB1012” and has a small circular brass plate “B”. A wonderful lamp that has been stripped of paint ready for restoration. £820

38 BR(Sc) Flanged enamel DOORPLATE “LADIES WAITING ROOM”. Good condition apart from a well matched repair to the bottom right corner which encroaches onto the bottom of the “M” – 18” x 6”. £70

40 Two Brass CAB PLATES from Bulleid West Country 34093 Saunton. One reads “ROCKING GRATE” and the other is braised together to read “INJECTOR”, GAUGE COCK” and “BOILER PRESSURE” and would have been mounted above the pressure gauge. Both in ex loco condition. (2) £70
41 Oval Cast Iron Plates “PWM 5449” ex BR Track machine – 5” x 3”, and “PWM 4310” from a Wickham Trolley DX68057 allocated to Welshpool, Hanwood and then Llanbrynmair - 4” x 2½”. Both face restored. (2) £30
42 BR(NE) Fully Flanged TOTEM “EAST BOLDON” from the Durham station across the Tyne to the South East of Newcastle. Very good colour and shine with a number of small well matched chip repairs in the centre panel and a couple of larger ones in the lower panel. Displays well and is a rare totem. £3050
43 Enamel POST BOX COLLECTION PLATE “YELVERTON STATION 579” with times of collections. The top right corner is cut out to accommodate a “next collection” plate. Yelverton was a former GWR station on the Plymouth – Launceston line and junction for the Princetown branch. The post box was located just outside the front entrance. Good condition with slight edge chipping – 3½” x 7”. £100

47 BR(S) Flanged enamel STATION SIGN “PUBLIC TELEPHONE 100 YARDS ALONG HIGH STREET”. Excellent condition with very good colour and shine and a very manageable size being just 12” x 18”. £180
48 GWR Wooden cased tombstone SIGNALING INSTRUMENT with long needle on large unmarked dial - 5½” x 7” overall. £30
49 Wooden TARGET “LYDD TOWN” from the Kent station on the Appledore to Dungeness line. In ex station condition and on its original backing board. Wooden targets were often used to replace damaged enamel ones. £450
50 Alloy HEADBOARD “THE BON ACCORD” from the express that ran from Glasgow Buchanan Street to Aberdeen. Originally the name was introduced by the LMS for the 10.05 Glasgow - Aberdeen and 15.20 return - the name was dropped on the outbreak of WW2. It was then re-introduced by British Railways in 1949 but as the 06.25 Aberdeen  - Glasgow and 13.35 return, and from 1956 became the 06.20 ex Aberdeen and 17.30 return. The board has been repainted but bears the knocks of use and has the usual stampings on the back with the names of similar pattern headboards. £4100

68 SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “3826” from GWR “2800” Class 2-8-0 loco built at Swindon in September 1940. Its first allocation was to Pontypool Road and it spent most of its later years there. It was finally withdrawn from Severn Tunnel Junction in December 1965 and was cut up at Cashmores Newport the following Spring. Ex loco condition. n/s
69 BR(W) White on Black enamel SIGNALBOX DOOR NOTICE “ British Railways Western Region Notice No Unauthorized person allowed in this box By Order”. Very good condition with minor face scratches only – 11” x 8”. £85
70 LT CAP BADGE “LONDON TRANSPORT TOUR GUIDE” as worn by Senior Tour guides on Central Bus Tours. A rare item, as few were issued, in excellent condition. £110

72 Oval brass WORKSPLATE “JOHN FOWLER & CO LEEDS 4210002 1949” from 0-4-0 diesel mechanical loco No.2 belonging to CEGB based at Kirkstall Power Station Leeds. Ex loco condition – 12” x 8”. £90
73 BR(M) Flanged Enamel STATION SIGN “NO SMOKING” with British Railways in totem above. Good colour and shine with an edge chip in the top right corner. Unusual as these signs are generally unflanged. Ex Crewe station – 24” x 12”. £65
74 GWR Order of Service for the thirteenth anniversary of Armistice Day November 11th 1931 to be held at Paddington station. Good condition with one small hole near the top left corner – 5” x 8”. £40
75 Brass NAMEPLATE “GREAT WESTERN” complete with all five of its complementary plates all in delightful ex-loco condition. The set consists of the nameplate, unique CABSIDE “47500”, BR double arrow logo in solid brass, GWR garter crest, London badge and Bristol badge. The locomotive, built by Brush Locomotive Co with works number 705, entered traffic as D1943. Its final number is 47770 and at the time of writing it is stored at Bescot MPD. “47500” was originally named in February 1979 when it was given alloy plates and a single badge. In May 1985 as part of the GWR 150 celebrations it was rededicated on the 125th anniversary of Paddington Station, at the station, and given a full set of brass name and number plates (the plates being made at Swindon works in GWR style). What a chance to obtain possibly the best diesel nameplate ever, plus all the extras. The nameplate is 58” x 8” and the Cabside 28” x 8”. (6) TBC £16,500
