153 BR(Sc) flanged enamel DOORPLATE “PRIVATE”. Good condition apart from edge chips on the bottom corners – 18” x 3½”. £95
154 Wooden ONE ENGINE IN STEAM STAFF with brass plates “LYDD TOWN” and “74 MP” and hanging loop on end – 15” x 1¾” overall. Lydd Town is an ex SECR Kent station that closed in 1971. £90
155 London Chatham & Dover Railway 8” mahogany cased fusee DROP DIAL CLOCK .The white enamel dial is hand painted “BR(S) John Walker 1, South Molton St. London 994-SE”. The pendulum and hinge are also stamped “994” The records show that this clock was located in the former LCDR Signal Cabin at Farningham Road station which is situated between Rochester and Swanley in Kent. As the signal cabin opened in 1861 and the clock dates from about 1870 it seems likely that it went there shortly after the Station opened and remained there for all its railway life. Excellent condition in full working order and certainly a rare and desirable small clock. TBC £1050

161 Chad Valley for GWR JIGSAW PUZZLE “HENLEY BRIDGE”. The 200 piece puzzle is complete and in good condition. The blue book type box is quite good with its ties intact. The puzzle was made from 1933 to 1935. £10

166 LMS Booklets “ROYAL SCOT”. Two booklets relating to the visit to America by the loco “Royal Scot” in 1933.The first folds out to 22” x 14” and shows the route followed in GB with copious pictures and was intended to be given as advertising material in Chicago. The second is called The Triumph of the Royal Scot and was prepared at the end of the tour.  The front cover of this item has been signed by two of the firemen. Slight loss to cover. (2) £14

172 Alloy single line KEY TOKEN “BURNGULLOW / DRINNICK MILL” from the ex GWR Cornish china clay branch which left the main line West of St Austell. The key end has been removed as happened to all keys from this branch. £50
173 Oval alloy WORKSPLATE “Andrew Barclay Sons & Co Caledonia Works N0 448 1961 Kilmarnock”, from an Industrial 0-4-0 Diesel Hydraulic. Attractively face restored – 10” x 7”. £45
174 BR(M) Half Flanged TOTEM “ILKESTON NORTH” from the Derbyshire station, to the West of Nottingham, that closed in 1964. Good colour and shine with the usual edge chipping only. £1300
175 NER fusee CLOCK with 12” dial marked LNER 5362. The movement, which has 'A' shaped plates, was made by WINTERHALDER & HOFMEIER and is marked “W&H Sch”. There are 3 labels, 2 of which are attached to the side door and 1 inside the mounting box. The main one on the door is the normal NER label in red writing, stating how to pack the clock and pendulum when sending to the Gateshead stores for repair. On the bottom of this label in black is “N/C Superannuation Dept”, also in blue is “2-OCT 1911”. The label inside the box says “N.E.R. Servants Pension Office, Clavering House, Clavering Place, NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, NE1 3NL”. The final label relates to a clock dealer from whom this clock was purchased. The clock is in full working order but lacks its key. TBC £500

182 GER Cast Iron PLAQUE “GREAT EASTERN RAILWAY”. These plaques carrying the County shields have appeared in a number of materials – many being reproductions. The vendors father had this one for a very long time and judging by the remains of a lug on the back it would seem that this was part of the fencing used around various of their properties. The plaque is in untouched rusty condition with slight remains of blue paint. Certainly an original item – 12” x 15” overall. £55

197 BR(W) LOCOMOTIVE DEPOT PLAN “RADYR”. A detailed 1949 hand-coloured diagram that shows details of the shed lines and comes with a typed description sheet that details such information that the depot had 27 locos 151 staff including 56 drivers and 52 firemen. The plan measures 19” x 8”. £250

199 Rectangular brass CAB WORKSPLATE “Built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Co Ltd Smethwick England Serial No 165” ex Class 33 locomotive D6594/33209 which entered traffic in March 1962. It was withdrawn in Dec 1988 and cut up at Eastleigh works the following year. – 4” x 3”. £150
200 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM “BARNSTAPLE TOWN” from the North Devon station on the line to Ilfracombe which was finally closed in 1970 although the station buildings still exist. 205 Brass TENDERPLATE “30R856” from a French Railways (SNCF) Baldwin standard gauge 2-8-2 loco 141-R-856. This was a post war reconstruction design from the USA for mixed traffic, many of which lasted until the end of steam in 1972. The plate is in completely ex loco condition. TBC £160

211 BR Britannia SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “70024”. This loco was one of a batch of fifteen Britannias built for the Western Region at Crewe. It was named “VULCAN” (This batch were all named after famous GWR broad gauge engines, and 70024 was named Vulcan after the first GWR locomotive to steam on its railway) and entered traffic at Laira in March 1952. Later allocations were at Cardiff Canton, Rugby, Willesden, Holyhead, both Crewe sheds and both Carlisle Sheds. The loco was Withdrawn in December 1967 and cut up at Wards Killamarsh  in April 1968. The plate is in totally ex loco condition. £3100

216 CRUCHLEYS Railway map of the County of CHESHIRE. Dated January 1st 1855. It folds out to 22” x 20” and shows all the Railways & Stations in the County. Good condition overall with slight browning on the folds. £22
217 Album of seventy loose mounted POSTCARDS, mainly colour, of locomotives of many companies in the early 20th Century. 223 Oval Cast Iron WORKSPLATE “BUILT 1961 SWINDON”. Locos built that year were D830 – 2, D866 – 70, D1000, D2143 – 6/75 – 7/87 – 99. Take your pick! Front only restored. £180
224 CARRIAGE PRINT “BISHOP STORTFORD, HERTFORDSHIRE” by Leonard Squirrell. The print, which features an attractive view of a traffic free High Street, is in good condition apart from minor damage which is just visible on the bottom edge and is presented In an original type glazed frame– 21” x 11”. £60
225 Alloy NAMEPLATE  “S. S. GREAT BRITAIN” Ex D1952 Brush works number 614 which entered traffic in Oct 1966. As Class 47 number 47508 it was named by HM Queen at Bristol Temple Meads as part of GW150 celebrations, linking Brunel’s famous steamship with the celebrations... The name was removed in June 1992 and fitted on 47823 in Oct the same year. 47823 was renumbered again to 47787 and had a final fling of glory being renamed WINDSOR CASTLE and allocated to Royal Train duties. 47508 was withdrawn from traffic in November 1992. The plate is in ex loco condition with traces of red paint showing through, and measures 65” x 10”. TBC £4900
