Railwayananet Auction
November 2008
Bidding Instructions & Conditions of Sale
In order to place
a bid you must have registered with us.
1. Bidding
by Phone
The
auction lots are arranged in groups of 25 with each group preceded
by the phone numbers that must be used throughout the auction to
place bids on lots in that section and the final time for bidding.
When phoning bids you should give your name & bidding number. When placing
a bid on any lot you may leave a higher “up to” bid that will be
executed as cheaply as possible subject to other bidding and
reserves. You may phone to check the status of your bids up until
the final selling time for each block. In the last 30 minutes of
each block please keep your call as short as possible. Bids in the
final 30 minutes of a bidding block can only be for items in that
block.
2. Bidding by internet
Bids can be placed 24 hours a day by using the bidding form that is
available with the lot description for each item in the catalogue on
our web site.
Please note that all bids will be acknowledged within 12 hours to
confirm receipt. After 5.30 pm on the final bidding nights all bids
must be made by phone. Each day during the bidding period the
current price of each lot will be regularly updated on our website
so that you can see how your bids are progressing. The final results
of lots 1 - 200
will be on the site at 11.30am on Sunday 23rd November 2008 and lots
201 - 375
will be on the site at 11.30am on Monday 24th November 2008.

8. Condition of Lots
As most of the lots will be unseen by bidders we try to describe the
items in the catalogue as accurately as possible. It must be
appreciated, however, that most items will have suffered wear & tear
commensurate with their age. If you would like further information
about any lot please phone or email as early as possible in the
auction for more information. Every lot is illustrated on our
website. However if you feel that an item on receipt falls short of
the catalogue description we will give a full refund. Please note
this only applies to items collected or posted before December 6th
2008.
9. Payment
Items
being collected from Dorking before 30th November can be paid for on
collection as can items being collected from Derby with payment
by cash only. For all other items payment must be received by
Tuesday 2nd December. Unless we have agreed otherwise prior to the
auction all bidders who may have won a lot(s) must contact us by
Friday 28th November. If no contact has been made by a successful
buyer by this date, or arrangements made for payment are not
followed, then the item will be offered to the underbidder without
any more contact with the original buyer. Please do not bid unless
you want the item and are prepared to pay for it if you win.
10. Vendors

auction. If you have any items for future auctions please contact us
