Chad
Valley for GWR wooden JIGSAW PUZZLE "King
George V" This is the rare 300 piece red box version which is difficult to find complete as the pieces were cut very small and are
extremely easily lost. This one is complete and in good
condition and comes with its red box which is in good condition apart
from one corner of the lid being torn. The puzzle was made from 1928 - 1932 but because it was
difficult to cut, and to make up, it was not very popular and it was
produced in much smaller numbers than the 150 piece version. Sold
without commission or reserve for the benefit of the South Devon Railway at Staverton. |

Chad
Valley for GWR wooden JIGSAW PUZZLE "The Torbay Express".
375 pieces version - complete and original but the paper has
been partly eaten away on quite a few of the sky pieces so only really
suitable as a starter puzzle for younger children. The puzzle,
which was produced in large numbers from 1930 - 1934, comes
complete with its box. Sold without commission or reserve for the benefit of the
South Devon Railway at Staverton. |

LNER Brass 9'' x 5'' WORKSPLATE "LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY
8101
COWLAIRS WORKS 1889" from a North British Class “G”
0-4-0 Saddle tank originally numbered 10088.
LNER classified it as a Class “Y9” and renumbered it 9929 and then 8108
to finally become BR 68108. This was a long standing
Dunfermline engine as it was one of the few of the class
that were vacuumed fitted which enabled it to move coaches at
Dunfermline Upper carriage sidings. It was also often the loco
that worked the Netherton Goods branch which closed in 1959.
Although it was officially withdrawn in October 1962, it had
been out of use for some considerable time. It was cut up at
Inverurie Works in March 1963. Ex loco condition. |
