301 BR(M) Face drilled reduced Flange TOTEM “CRESSINGTON & GRASSENDALE”  from the Lancashire station, to the South of Liverpool, that closed in 1972. Excellent condition with very good colour and shine and just a tiny chip at one of the screw holes. Not sold in auction before. n/s
302 Mounted BUS TRANSFER on ¼” MDF board with chocolate background for the “WEST BRIDGFORD UDC Passenger Transport Dept”. Excellent condition - 27’’ x 18’’. £80

305 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “76059” from a BR Class 4MT 2-6-0 which was built at Doncaster in 1955. Allocated new to Redhill in June, its other sheds were Salisbury, Eastleigh and Guildford. Withdrawn in September 1966 it was cut up at Cashmores Newport in March 1967. Repainted front and back. £620
306 CARRIAGE PRINT “SIBLE HEDINGHAM, ESSEX” by Leonard Squirrell. An attractive period view of the town complete with horse and cart. The print, which is in good condition apart from a small stain in the left corner of the white border, is presented in an original type glazed frame - 22’’ x 11’’. £140

Oval brass WORKSPLATE “THE DREWRY CAR CO LTD LOCO No 2703 1961” ex Class (04) D2322. Allocated new to Heaton it had a short BR working life, moving to the NCB  at Kiveton in 1968.   Totally ex loco condition - 8’’ x 5’’.

309 BR(W) Fully Flanged TOTEM “DIDCOT” from the Oxfordshire station on the line from Reading to Bristol. Attractive totem with excellent colour and shine. £770
310 BR(S) enamel QR POSTERBOARD HEADING “BRITISH RAILWAYS”. This is the more attractive later version with larger letters. Good colour and shine with chipping around the screw holes - 53’’ x 6’’. £110
311 LNER oval MIRROR on wooden backboard with “LNER” etched at the bottom of the glass. Good condition – 20’’ x 12’’ overall. £20
312 GWR brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “6999” from a Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 named “CAPEL DEWI HALL”. New to Cardiff (Canton) in February 1949 it was later allocated to Taunton, Westbury, Severn Tunnel Junction and Oxford. Withdrawn in December 1965 it was cut up at Cashmores Newport in May the following year. Totally ex loco condition. £2650
313 BREL chromed alloy WORKSPLATE “MANUFACTURED AT CREWE BREL LIMITED 1990” as fitted to  “Class 90” Bo-Bo’s built at Crewe, as sub contractors for GEC, to work the West Coast main line. This one was fitted to 90043/90143, which entered traffic at Willesden in May 1990. The loco was named Freightliner Coatbridge at Coatbridge Terminal in May 1996 and this name is still carried. There were three different types of Works plates used and this is the least common. Face only cleaned. £360
314 BR(W) Half Flanged TOTEM “WORCESTER SHRUB HILL” from one of Worcester’s two stations, being the Junction for the Hereford line. Good colour and shine, although the cream has become rather stained, with one small chip repair on the edge. £2050
315 S&D Jt Fully Titled DR LETTERPRESS POSTER advertising a half day excursion to Bridgwater for the flower show and band festival on the 18th August 1934. Good condition with minor staining at the bottom, presented in a glazed frame - 29’’ x 44’’ overall. BTC £110
316 GWR early pre grouping blue on white enamel             STATION SIGN “BOOKING OFFICE“. Originally mounted in an elevated wooden frame, examples of these notices are very rare particularly from this early period. The substantial 120’’x 12’’one-piece sign is generally in good condition for its age with what wear there is not affecting the lettering. The successful purchaser will be responsible for collection from the Shropshire area. BTC n/s
317 SHEDPLATE “70A” NINE ELMS. This shed lasted until the end of SR steam in July 1967. Face repainted with a clear BR(S) Eastleigh triangle on the back. £620
318 LNWR Route Indicator Pegging BLOCK INSTRUMENT. The face with needle dial is marked “STOUR VALLEY” and “CURZON STREET” and has Ivorine plates “GRAND JUNCTION” and “DOWN LINE”. The wooden case, which has had a small piece of the base cut off, is stamped “L&NW Rly. A very rare instrument, almost certainly from the Exchange Sidings at Birmingham, which was purchased from Collectors Corner when it first opened. £860
319 LNER oval brass 9’’ x 5’’ WORKSPLATE “LNER 4253 DONCASTER WORKS 1919”. As carried by the ex GN class J22 0-6-0, GNR604 which was built at Doncaster as Works No 1485 in February 1919. It became LNER Class J6 3604 from September 1925, 4253 from October 1946 and finally 64253 from August 1950. A longtime Hornsey engine, it moved to New England in February 1960 and was withdrawn in May 1962 being immediately cut up at Doncaster Works. Face polished only. £250
320 BR(M) Half Flanged TOTEM “BLISWORTH” from the Northamptonshire station, to the South of the County town, that closed in 1960. Quite good colour and shine with some mottling and a number of chips at the edges. £740
321 Steel Single line KEY TOKEN plated  “QUARRY G / SHIPLEY” covering a section from the Junction station to the North of Bradford to the nearby Quarry Sidings. £100
322 CRUCHLEYS Railway map of the County of WESTMORELAND. Dated January 1st 1856.  It folds out to 22’’ x 20’’ & shows all the Railways & Stations in the County. Good condition overall with slight browning on the folds. £55
323 BR(S) enamel sign “MINNIS BAY SUBSTATION” from a trackside hut from this Kent location. Unrestored condition with a chip on the letter “A” - 26’’ x 6’’. £210
324 SR Fully titled Cast iron TRACKSIDE SIGN “SOUTHERN RAILWAY TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROSECUTED”. Front only repainted - 25’’ x 16’’. £90
325 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM “BERE ALSTON” from the Devon station that was on the Southern main line from Exeter to Plymouth being the junction for the Callington branch. The station is now relegated to a single line reverse for the route from Plymouth to Gunnislake. Excellent colour and shine with just a couple of chip repairs on the top flange going slightly into the green of the top panel. First time in auction. £5250

332 Oval brass 9’’x5’’ WORKSPLATE “The Vulcan Foundry (Limited) NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS LANCASHIRE 4727 of 1936” ex LMS Stanier 8 freight 48050. Its sheds in BR days were Wellingborough, Kettering and Aintree. Withdrawn in March 1966 it was cut up at Central Wagon, Wigan in July of the same year. The plate is in ex-loco condition. £210

335 GWR & MIDLAND JOINT Cast iron TRACKSIDE SIGN “CAUTION G.W.R. ENGINES ARE ALLOWED DOWN THE STRAIGHT BUT NOT TO CROSS OVER FROM ONE ROAD TO THE OTHER BEYOND THIS BOARD” This grade one sign, that specifically refers to GWR ENGINES, is believed to have been in use within the yards in the Bristol area. The sign is in excellent original line side condition - 48’’x 24’’. BTC £1000
336 Oval brass WORKSPLATE “R & W HAWTHORN LESLIE Co. Ltd ENGINEERS 3719 ENGLAND 1929 NEWCASTLE ON TYNE”. Ex 0-4-0ST No.5 APCM allocated to Swanscombe Works Kent. Front only restored - 13’’x 8½’’ £180
337 BR(Sc) Fully Flanged TOTEM “GLENGARNOCK” from the Ayrshire station to the South West of Glasgow. The totem has lost its shine and the colour has become rather mottled. There is one small poorly matched chip repair. n/s
338 SR enamel DIRECTION SIGN “ELECTRIC TRAINS EVERY FEW MINUTES TO WATERLOO CITY & WEST END Frequent services to Clapham Junction, Sutton, Croydon, Boxhill, Dorking, Effingham Junction (For Guildford line)”. A very large and heavy sign that came from Epsom High Street by the Clock Tower and directed travelers to the nearby station. Edge chips only - 117’’ x 48’’. BTCD £120
339 Presentation open faced 18ct GOLD WATCH with inscription inside the back cover      ”Presented by a number of the inhabitants in and around Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie to Mr Matthew Gloag in testimony of their sense of his considerable attention and obliging disposition while railway station master at Coupar Angus 1852” A superb watch in full working order that comes complete with its ornate key. £540
340 North Staffordshire Railway three aspect HANDLAMP with “NSRy” marked on the side and on the middle casing that holds the glasses. Unfortunately only the amber glass remains. The vessel is also stamped “NSR” with the burner showing “GWR”. A very desirable handlamp in totally unrestored condition. £370
341 Oval brass WORKSPLATE “Beyer Peacock & Co Ltd 7806 BEYER-GARRATT LOCOMOTIVE MANCHESTER 1957” with five lines of patent numbers. The loco was built at the Manchester works in 1957 as number 7806 Class 20A 4-8-2 +2-8-4 and was given running number 741 for use on the Rhodesian Railways 3’ 6” gauge lines. Front only repainted - 10½’’ x 6½’’. £220
342 Belfast & Northern Counties Railway small enamel STATION SIGN “BNCR NOTICE anyone found writing on the walls or in any way injuring the Company’s property will be prosecuted BY ORDER”. Poor condition with chips and a loss to the right hand side but an early enamel with interesting wording - 6’’ x 4’’ £45
343 GWR PASSENGER TIMETABLE September 20th 1926 until further notice. It comes with its original map in the back (which is loose and the edges are slightly foxed) and has 282 pages. Excellent condition for its age - 8’’ x 12’’. £20

346 GWR QR POSTER “SPEED TO THE WEST”. A classic 1939 poster by Charles Mayo giving the artists impression of King George V1 at speed. The poster has slight losses at the edges and has been mounted on paper to preserve. Fantastic - don’t miss – 48’’ x 40’’. £1200
347 BR(NE) Flanged enamel RUNNING IN BOARD with black edged letters “BURLEY IN WHARFEDALE” from the station near Ilkley that closed in 1965. This substantial sign at 132’’ x 20’’ has lost a little colour and shine but the station didn’t have totems and it is difficult to get anything with this name. To be collected from Derbyshire. 348 BR(S) Half Flanged TOTEM “WILTON SOUTH” from the ex LSWR Wiltshire station to the West of Salisbury that closed in 1966. Excellent ex station condition still on its original mounting brackets. £1300
349 SR SHIPPING china MILK JUG with metal cover marked “SOUTHERN RAILWAY” in garter on the side with the SR shipping flag. Good condition apart from a hairline crack on the handle. An attractive item standing just 3’’ tall. £30
350 BR brass LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE “VENUS” ex Standard Class 7 “Britannia”4-6-2 Pacific 70023. Built at Swindon it entered traffic in August 1951 and was named from new. After ten years on the Western region based at Cardiff Canton it moved to Carlisle Kingmoor in 1961 followed by spells at Rugby, Crewe, Holyhead, Llandudno Junction and finally back to Carlisle Kingmoor where it was withdrawn in December 1967, being cut up by T Ward of Rotherham shortly after. Face restored only and a very displayable 23’’ long. £10,000

358 Brass LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE “PLUTO” from an ex military railway engine believed to have been an early LMS Diesel shunter that worked during the war on the Martin Mill Military Railway. The plate is rounded at the top, the correct diameter to take a military badge, so the other military possibility is at Longmoor. Heavy cast brass with ex loco back and the front painted and polished – 25’’ x 6’’ with remnants of blue paint around the edges. n/s
359 GWR & GC Joint Titled Cast iron TRESPASS SIGN “GREAT WEST’N & GREAT CENT’L JOINT RY’s……..”  with eleven lines of text warning not to trespass on the stations or lines of these companies. Front only restored - 30’’ x 20½’’. BTC £210

373 GWR untitled Cast iron TRAVELLING VAN notice. This sign, with fourteen lines of text, gives instructions on parking and safety. The sign, which is nicely restored, unusually is reasonably flat and the bolt holes are undamaged -18’’x 22’’. £110

375 BR NAMEPLATE and CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE ex “D1046 WESTERN MARQUIS”. Built at Crewe it entered traffic at Bristol in December 1962. In December 1975 it crashed into D1064 on shed at Laira and was so damaged that it was condemned. After some months storage there it arrived at Swindon and was cut up in November 1976. Both plates are in excellent condition with original undamaged beading with just the fronts repainted. The nameplate on this superb set is 92’’ long (2) BTC £9000
