226 BR Standard Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “90412” from a WD 2-8-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co. in 1945, with works number 25396 and numbered by the WD 78541. Once returned to BR its Sheds were Wakefield, Sowerby Bridge and then back to Wakefield. Withdrawn in December 1962 it was cut up at Arnott Young at Bilston in April 1963. Front repainted with the back in primer. £350
227 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “WALLASEY GROVE ROAD” from the Cheshire station just across the river from Liverpool. Not seen previously in lower panel form. Rather lacking in shine and some loss to the top mounting flange. £330
228 GWR/BR oval brass WORKSPLATE “YORKSHIRE ENGINE Co. LTD 2443 MEADOW-HALL WORKS 1949 SHEFFIELD” from a (GWR) 9400 Class 0-6-0PT “8450”. It entered traffic at Newport Ebbw Junction in August 1949 with its other sheds being Severn Tunnel Junction, Barry and Tyseley. Withdrawn in June 1959, it was cut up at Cashmores Newport by the end of the year. In unpainted ex-loco condition - 11’’x 6’’. £190
229 BR(W) Flanged enamel STATION DIRECTION SIGN “SPRING ROAD STATION” with British Railways in totem and feathered arrow, from the ex GWR station to the South East of Birmingham. Excellent colour and shine with just a couple of minor edge chips - 28’’ x 13’’. £410
230 SHEDPLATE “87D” SWANSEA EAST DOCK. Repainted front only. £120
231 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM “SELHURST” from the South London suburban station near Croydon. Excellent colour and shine with minor flange chipping only. £410
232 Cadburys CHOCOLATE MACHINE with fine original paintwork with the word “CHOCOLATE” painted on the side. Instructions as to the use and method of working, including the 6d cost of a bar of chocolate, are displayed on alloy notices at the front. BTC £150
233 SR TARGET “BELVEDERE” from the South London suburban station. Appears to have been partly resprayed around the edges but looks very presentable with very good shine but slight variation in colour - attached to a replacement wooden backboard. £320
234 S & D Jt Fully titled Cast iron OCCUPATION CROSSING sign with seven lines of text. This is the unusual variant of the Occupation crossing sign and was recovered from the Evercreech Junction area in April 1966 just after the line closed, and at which time the face was restored leaving the paint and post mark on the rear - 26’’ x 19’’. 235 Alloy KEY TOKEN “NEWQUAY / St COLUMB RD” from the ex GWR Cornish branch to Newquay. As the line is still open the end was cut off and has been neatly replaced. £260
236 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “PRESTWICH” from the Lancashire station to the North of Manchester. Good colour and shine with a couple of minor scratches to the face. £430
237 SER PLATFORM BENCH with two ends each having, in Cast iron entwined letters,  “SER” set into the bottom section. This would have been a longer bench with three frame sections but it has been reduced to a more manageable 48’’ version and comes dismantled for ease of transport. The wooden slats are currently white, the ends in SR green. BTC £510
238 GWR Pre Grouping Cast iron DOORPLATE “BOOKING OFFICE”. The front has been tastefully restored - 24’’ x 3½’’. £80
239 Alloy rectangular WORKSPLATE “ BRITISH RAILWAYS DONCASTER 1965….” ex  Class 86 5000 hp electric loco E3109/86016 that entered service on the Crewe electric lines in 1965 and was later named “WIGAN PIER” in 1984. Front repainted with the ex loco back stamped “86016” - 8½’’ x 6’’. £280
240 Alloy cut out CREWE CAT DEPOT PLAQUE as used on Crewe based locos that worked the Rail Express Services. If carried it would only have been for a short time. £140
241 GWR Cast iron CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “8782” from a GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0PT. Allocated new to Neath in January 1934 it spent its entire life working there and at its sub sheds. Withdrawn in November 1961 it remained in Wales to the end being cut up at Cashmores Newport in February 1962. Face only repainted. £410
242 BR(Sc) Half Flanged TOTEM “AVIEMORE” from the Scottish highland station in skiing country. The totem has been creased and the right hand end is mainly repair, but a good Scottish name with no reserve £220
243 GWR early hand engraved brass CASH BAG PLATE “SOUTHALL” attached to a small piece of leather from the bag. The location, famous for the loco shed, is now the home of a steam preservation group £140

245 Steel miniature Single line STAFF with brass end engraved “WATFORD /ST ALBANS” a section of the ex LNWR line in the North London suburbs. Good used condition - 11” long. £240
246 BR(W)  Fully Flanged TOTEM “PEMBROKE DOCK” from the West Wales terminus station on the line from Whitland. Excellent colour and shine with just a couple of small chip repairs on the cream of the flange. £1100
247 Alloy diamond Diesel DEPOT PLAQUE showing an EAGLE signifying allocation to CREWE depot for its electric and RES locos. Totally ex loco condition - 25’’ square £260
248 SR TARGET “MORETON” from the Dorset station on the ex LSWR line to the East of Dorchester that closed in 1965. Good colour with very slight loss of shine and some minor edge chip repairs. Presented on a replacement wooden backing board. £780
249 GWR Cast iron KEY RELEASE INSTRUMENT as found at Ground Frames for sidings or branch lines. The key token to open the sidings or branch was usually carried on the loco that wanted access. Church door shaped with instructions cast on the front of the instrument and in the condition it was removed from the frame. Stands 11’’ high. £110
250 BR(NE) Half Flanged TOTEM “BURTON SALMON” from the Yorkshire station between Knottingly and York that was an early closure for a totem adorned station in 1959. Superb condition with just slight touching up to the edge of the flanges. A very attractive black edged lettered totem that would grace any collection. £2350

254 Alloy Single line KEY TOKEN “WHITSTONE&BRIDGERULE / BUDE” from the final section Cornish branch from Halwill Junction to Bude that closed in 1966. The end was cut off this key by the railway and has been neatly replaced for display. £310

256 David Macbrayne DR POSTER “THE FAST ROUTE TO SKYE BY MACBRAYNE’S SERVICES” by Alastair Macfarlane and produced in association with British Railways. Shows R.M.S. Loch Seaforth in port at Armadale Skye. The poster, which has been mounted on paper to conserve, has been folded and has minor tape marks on the edges - 25’’ x 40’’. £160
257 Oval Cast iron WORKSPLATE “BUILT BY LNER RAILWAY CO.1944 DONCASTER WORKS No.1975. Ex LMS Stanier “8” freight 48526, which started life on the LNER. Its BR sheds were Nuneaton, Rugby and Stourbridge. Withdrawn in September 1966 it was cut up by the end of the year at Cashmores, Great Bridge.  Nicely restored it measures 13’’ x 7½’’. £350

259 MOUNTED TRANSFER on ¼” MDF Board of the Coat of Arms for the “KENYA & UGANDA RAILWAYS & HARBOURS”. The transfer is mounted on a red painted background and is in excellent condition - 15’’ x 21’’. £35

264 BR(S) Half Flanged  TOTEM “BARCOMBE MILLS” from the Sussex station, between Uckfield and Lewes, that closed in 1969. The totem has good colour but is rather lacking in shine with three chip repairs on the face and some repainting around the flange. £1150

LNER oval brass 9’’ x 5’’ WORKSPLATE “LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY 9215 COWLAIRS WORKS 1923” as carried by the Class A 0-6-2T No 76 built at Cowlairs in December 1923. It became LNER 763 Class N15/1, 9076 in November 1926, 9215 in November 1946 and finally 69215 in September 1948. A long time Carlisle Canal engine it was withdrawn in November 1959 and cut up at Cowlairs in April 1960. Ex loco condition.

266 SR enamel DOORPLATE “LADIES ROOM”. This has been used without an alloy surround by drilling holes at each end, which has resulted in minor chipping. Good colour and shine with rust marks on some of the letters - 18’’ x 6’’. £55

269 GWR brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “9467” from a “Class 9400 0-6-0PT built by Robert Stephensons & Hawthorns in 1952 with works number 7618. Entering traffic in February 1952 at Plymouth (Laira) the whole of its ten year working life was at that depot. Withdrawn in May 1962 it was cut up at Cashmores Newport by the end of October that year. Front only repainted and lightly polished - the face of one mounting bolt is still in place. £920

278 GWR Cast iron CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “5526” from a GWR 4575 Class 2-6-2T. New in May 1928 it was shedded at St Blazey, Truro, Westbury, Truro again and Westbury again. Withdrawn in June 1962 it joined many others at Woodhams, Barry. It was to remain there for many years before it arrived at Toddington in 1985. It is now restored and working on the South Devon Railway. Totally ex loco condition. £540
279 GWR brass cased VACUUM PRESSURE GAUGE. The case is stamped “6400” and the face is engraved “GWR” with the pressure required for up to and above 8 coaches also being engraved on the steel faceplate.  A superb early item in ex loco condition - 6’’ diameter £120

284 S&D Jt wooden SIGNALBOX BOARD “BATH JUNCTION” probably from one of the best known boxes on this famous old line. The board, which was removed when the box closed on the demise of the S&D, has been carefully restored and is in excellent condition. Due to its size of 92’’ x 9’’ it will need to be collected from the Bournemouth area. BTC £2200

286 GNR 8" dial mahogany cased roundhead WALL CLOCK with wire fusee movement. The face, which is a BR original with 24 hour markings, is marked “BR(E) 10202”. A fine early clock, probably made by John Walker, that is in full working order and was located in Winchmore Hill signal cabin on the GNR loop. n/s
287 Four Brass CASH BAG PLATES attached to remnants of the leather cash bags. These are the later types that are hand punched: - “DTSO EXETER CENTRAL”, DT SUPT EXETER CT SR”, “S M TEMPLECOMBE”, S II MARTOCK”. All have BR(M) on the rear.(4) £20

299 BIRMINGHAM CITY TRANSPORT fully titled Unflanged enamel black on white sign dated March 1959 stating that vehicles being towed must not exceed 10mph. Excellent condition - 20’’ x 9½’’. £60
300 LMS Brass LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE “ROYAL ULSTER RIFLEMAN” from Royal Scot “46122” built for the LMS in 1927 by the North British Locomotive Co, with works number 23622. The loco was named in 1928. Rebuilt in 1945 its latter sheds were Longsight, Trafford Park, Carlisle Upperby, Bushbury, Nottingham and finally Carlisle Upperby again. Withdrawn in October 1964 it was cut up at Drapers, Hull in February the following year. Front only repainted and lightly polished. BTC £13,500
