1945, with works number 25396 and numbered by the WD 78541. Once
returned to BR its Sheds were Wakefield, Sowerby Bridge and then
back to Wakefield. Withdrawn in December 1962 it was cut up at
Arnott Young at Bilston in April 1963. Front repainted with the
back in primer. |

August 1949 with its other sheds being Severn Tunnel Junction,
Barry and Tyseley. Withdrawn in June 1959, it was cut up at
Cashmores Newport by the end of the year. In unpainted ex-loco

Flanged TOTEM “BURTON SALMON” from the Yorkshire station between
Knottingly and York that was an early closure for a totem
adorned station in 1959. Superb condition with just slight
touching up to the edge of the flanges. A very attractive black

Withdrawn in September 1966 it was cut up by the end of the year
at Cashmores, Great Bridge. Nicely restored it measures 13’’ x
7½’’. |

x 5’’ WORKSPLATE “LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY 9215 COWLAIRS
WORKS 1923” as carried by the Class A 0-6-2T No 76 built at
Cowlairs in December 1923. It became LNER 763 Class N15/1, 9076
in November 1926, 9215 in November 1946 and finally 69215 in
September 1948. A long time Carlisle Canal engine it was
withdrawn in November 1959 and cut up at Cowlairs in April 1960.
Ex loco condition.

built by Robert Stephensons & Hawthorns in 1952 with works
number 7618. Entering traffic in February 1952 at Plymouth (Laira)
the whole of its ten year working life was at that depot.
Withdrawn in May 1962 it was cut up at Cashmores Newport by the
end of October that year. Front only repainted and lightly
polished - the face of one mounting bolt is still in place.

a GWR 4575 Class 2-6-2T. New in May 1928 it was shedded at St
Blazey, Truro, Westbury, Truro again and Westbury again.
Withdrawn in June 1962 it joined many others at Woodhams, Barry.
It was to remain there for many years before it arrived at
Toddington in 1985. It is now restored and working on the South
Devon Railway. Totally ex loco condition. |

LMS Brass LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE “ROYAL ULSTER RIFLEMAN”
from Royal Scot “46122”
built for the LMS in 1927 by the North British Locomotive Co,
with works number 23622. The loco was named in 1928. Rebuilt in
1945 its latter sheds were Longsight, Trafford Park, Carlisle
Upperby, Bushbury, Nottingham and finally Carlisle Upperby
again. Withdrawn in October 1964 it was cut up at Drapers, Hull
in February the following year. Front only repainted and lightly
polished. BTC |
