157 Estate agents double sided enamel ADVERTISING SIGN with flanged end for wall mounting, from the North Wales coastal location of COLWYN BAY. The sign, which has black writing on a white background and dates from the 1950’s, is in excellent original condition with good shine - 22’’ x 16’’. £40

163 A pair of brass Buffer beam NUMBER PLATES “No” and “361” from a Class 15 South African GARRATT built in 1947 as part of a batch of ten 4-6-4 + 4-6-4 locos by Beyer Peacock with build numbers 7228/37. These were mainly used for heavy freight operations. The plates were removed on withdrawal and both are in totally ex loco condition with the pair measuring 29’’ x 8’’ overall. £150

168 PKP Cast iron REGISTRATION PLATE from a Polish locomotive, showing the Eagle and “P.K.P.” lettering. This plate was removed from a withdrawn locomotive and given to the vendor on visiting a closed Polish loco depot. Face restored over the original paint -10’’ x 8’’. n/s
169 Oval brass WORKSPLATE “W.G.BAGNALL LTD ENGINEERS 2428 STAFFORD ENGLAND”. Ex GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0PT 8731. Starting life at Kidderminster in February 1931 it then spent time at Worcester, Gloucester and again at Kidderminster before its final depot, Southall. Withdrawn in July 1962, it was cut up by the end of the year at Cashmores Newport. Face repainted. £190
170 GWR PASSENGER TIMETABLE January to April 1901. It comes with its original maps in the back and has 180 pages. Contents are complete and in good order - 8’’ x 12’’. £24

173 Class 47 alloy WORKSPLATE ex D1995/47293 built Crewe 1966 and entered traffic in April at York. Named Transfesa at Tilbury in Nov 1997 it was withdrawn in Jan 1999 and sold to Fragonset in 2002. Ex loco condition with green paint around the edges - 13’’ x 6½’’. n/s
174 BR(M) Half Flanged TOTEM “WEST HAMPSTEAD MIDLAND” from the North London suburban station. Some loss of colour and shine with minor well matched chip repairs. Both mounting flanges have some loss due to rusting. £450
175 INDUSTRIAL NAMEPLATE “BARKER” from a Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0ST with inside cylinders built as works No 909 in 1910. Emerging from works on 22nd March it was purchased by Sutton Heath and Lea Green Collieries Ltd for use at Lea Green Colliery. In 1944 it then went to the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board via George Cohen, becoming MDHB No 33. An attractive rectangular cast brass plate with serif lettering presented in pretty much ex loco condition - 25½’’ x 6’’. n/s

176 BR Brass rectangular WORKSPLATE “DEL 51” from a BR Class 2 Bo-Bo Birmingham Carriage & Wagon “Class 26”. Built as D5306 and allocated to Hornsey in November 1958 it quickly went to Edinburgh, later being renumbered 26006, where it worked until withdrawn in September 1993. It was cut up by MC Metal Processing, Glasgow in April 1994. These small plates were fitted inside the cabs. Ex loco condition - 4’’ x 3’’. £210
177 GWR Brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “5924” from a Hall Class 4-6-0 named “DINTON HALL” which entered traffic at Reading in May 1933. It only had two sheds in BR days, Westbury and Bristol (St Philips Marsh), from where it was withdrawn in December 1963 to meet its end at Birds Risca in May 1964. Front only repainted. £1900
178 SR Bulls eye SIGNAL LAMP interior clearly stamped “WILLINGCOTT CROSSING” and with a brass plate ”E”. A North Devon item, as the crossing was just outside of Ilfracombe. The lamp has been tastefully restored and comes complete with burner and wick. £130

180 CARRIAGE PRINT “ THE CINQUE PORT OF HASTINGS SUSSEX” by Jack Merriott from the Southern region A series. A very attractive view of the beach and the huts that were used for drying nets. The print, which is mounted on thin card, is in good condition and is presented In an original type glazed frame - 23’’ x 11’’. £260

182 A pair of TRANSACORD LP VINYL RECORDS - one number 5050-1 features Midland Compounds at various locations in 1956, and the other, 5046-7, features a selection of A3 Pacifics including 60103 Flying Scotsman at Retford - these were recorded in 1958/9. Both are in their original sleeves and appear to be in good condition. (2) £40

185 BR(W) Half Flanged  TOTEM “WELSHPOOL” from the Montgomeryshire station to the West of Shrewsbury in the Welsh borders. The totem, which has minor edge chipping only, has suffered from the elements and is slightly faded and has lost most of its shine. £400

189 LNER oval brass 9’’ x 5’’ WORKSPLATE “LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY 61310 N.B.LOCO Co 1948” from a B1 4-6-0 built at the North British works as No 26211 in 1948. Allocations were Ardsley, Copley Hill and Ardsley again. Withdrawn in April 1965 and cut up at Drapers Hull in June. Front only repainted. £340
190 NER mahogany cased 16’’ roundhead fusee WALL CLOCK of circa 1870. The clock, which has the dial marked “BR(NE) 5264”, contains a label “NER No 855” inside the door. It was located at Newcastle Passenger Dept in the Parcels Office and later at Fenchurch Street Parcels Office. A fine clock in full working order. n/s

192 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM “OKEHAMPTON” from the ex LSWR Devon station on the line from Exeter to Plymouth. The station was closed in 1972 but is now in use again for occasional tourist trains from Exeter. A sought after totem in virtually mint condition. £3350

197 GWR original coloured SIGNALBOX DIAGRAM “CHURCH STRETTON STATION” on thick paper from the Shropshire station signalbox on the Shrewsbury to Swansea line. There is a note on the diagram saying that it must not be removed from the box - Dated 21/8/41. Good ex box condition - 50’’ x 17’’ rolled. £220

200 ALLOY NAMEPLATE “CAIRN TOUL” ex Class 60 “60072” which was built by Brush Engineering with works number 974 in July 1991. The loco was named on completion after a mountain in the Cairngorms and carried the plates until early in 1998. Ex loco condition with a minor service scrape along the letters - 39½’’ x 10’’. n/s

204 BR(S) Flanged enamel RUNNING IN BOARD “BOURNEMOUTH WEST”. This was recovered from the island platform when the station closed in October 1965 and traffic from the S&D Jt was moved to Bournemouth Central. Overall good condition with two face chips, some rusting and fading and slight loss to the flange on the bottom edge. A hole was drilled in the face in BR days at the left hand edge. A great name if you have the space - 117’’ x 36’’. To be collected from the Bournemouth area. BTC £460

209 GWR Brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “1424” from a 1400 Class 0-4-2T that was allocated new to Goodwick in November 1933. A Gloucester engine all its BR life, it was condemned in December 1963 to be cut up at Cashmores Great Bridge in June 1964. The front has been repainted, the back is untouched. £1800
210 Oval brass WORKSPLATE “Beyer Peacock & Co Ltd 7850 Manchester Beyer- Garratt Locomotive 1957” with information about British and South African patents and the fact that the loco was built under sub contract by NBR Loco Co Glasgow. From a South African Railways 3’6” gauge GMA/M Beyer Garratt that was built as one of a batch of 10 with works number 27787 and SAR No 4135. The loco worked from the Dabuka Marshalling yards and on the Bulawayo/Victoria Falls line - this plate being removed in Dabuka in 1983 when the loco was on its way to be scrapped. Ex loco condition - 14’’ x 7’’. The plate comes with a photo of the locomotive. £410
211 BR Standard SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “70026” from the infamous Britannia Class 4-6-2 “POLAR STAR”. This was the loco that came off the rails with an excursion train at Milton near Didcot in December 1955. New to Cardiff Canton in December 1952 its other sheds were Aston, Holyhead and Stockport Edgeley from where it was withdrawn in January 1967. It was cut up at Cashmores Newport in May 1967. The plate, which has been repainted front and back with just the numbers stripped of paint, comes with a small photo of the loco and also a copy of the accident report. £3600

SECR fully titled CARRIAGE NOTICE, in Carriage Print form, giving details of Refreshment Baskets and warnings about Spitting and opening doors and windows. The print has been folded and has small losses and water staining but is a rare early item and has been well presented in a glazed frame - 28’’ x 12’’.

225 SR BULLEID NAMEPLATE “AXMINSTER” from a West Country Class 4-6-2 Pacific loco No 34018 being built at Brighton in 1945 and originally numbered 21C118. It had long spells at both Nine Elms and Exmouth Jct MPD’s with a short interlude at Salisbury. Rebuilt in September 1958, it was withdrawn at the end of Southern steam in July 1967. After a few months storage at Salisbury it was cut up a Cashmores Newport in April 1968. This plate, which was one of the pair put on when the loco was built, comes with its brass scroll and a replica painted badge in a replacement full size brass frame. This makes a very attractive set that is currently on display at Head of Steam Huddersfield and is to be collected from there. n/s
