NAMEPLATE "RATCLIFFE POWER STATION" with Powergen Logo ex
58041. The
Nameplates were applied without ceremony in June 1996 and were
carried until January 2003. The loco was then repainted in GIF
livery and in March 2003 was sent to Spain. (Note - 58041 had
previously carried the same name, but with a CEGB logo, and they were replaced with
these new ones with the Powergen logo).

NAMEPLATE "TRYFAN" ex Class "60"
60094. The loco entered traffic
in January 1992 with the nameplates on having been named after
the earlier Class”44” 44010. The plates were removed in April
2004 and the loco was later renamed "Rugby Flyer" and currently
is based at Immingham Depot.

CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE "59202"
ex Class
"59" Vale of White Horse. The loco was named at Didcot Power
Station in September 1996 by the Chairman of the Vale of White
Horse Council. The plates were removed as the locos were
repainted into EWS livery. The loco, still with its nameplates
on, is still regularly working in the Vale of White Horse from
the Westbury Yards.

Alloy NAMEPLATE "RESURGENT" ex Class "47"
47737.
The nameplates were applied without ceremony in April 1992 (the
locomotive at that time being numbered 47588). It was taken out
of traffic in February 2004 and stored at Temple Mills where the
plates were removed. In November of that year it moved to
Healey Mills and was later transfered to Kingsbury Scrap yard
and
may now be a pile of
components.

NAMEPLATE "MIRRLEES PIONEER" ex Class "37"
37901.
Named at Cardiff Canton in December 1986 by the Managing
Director of Mirrlees Diesels, the plates were carried until July
2002. In February 1995 the loco was out of use in after catching
fire and was then withdrawn. It was later saved and in now on
the Llangollen Rly and was renamed with new plates in March
2006.

Named at Boulby Mine by a director of Cleveland Potash in June
1987, the plates. were carried until September 1990. The loco

from the loco whilst it was on the scrap line - however the loco
was then purchased for preservation and a replacement power
control had to be fitted be the new owner. This comes with its
original paperwork.

Brass Crest ex
D405/50005 "COLLINGWOOD". The loco, which was designed to work
the WCML, was built in 1967/8 and named in April 1978 taking its
name from a Royal Navy warship. In November 1987 the loco was
"twinned" with the warship and this crest, which was presented
by the Navy, was added - originally mounted above the
nameplate and later moved to below when a new livery was used.
The loco was scrapped by Cooper metals in Cardiff in 1991. An
excellent change to "twin" the plate and badge or just to have
an interesting item off a "Hoover" - 6 3/4" x 8 3/4". |
