84 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “SETTLE” from the station at the start of the much loved line over the hills to Carlisle. Good colour but slightly mottled with some loss of shine and also some rust staining on the white. £2150
85 Cast iron BRIDGE MAKERS PLATE “ROSE STREET FOUNDRY INVERNESS 1885” in very ornate shield shape pattern. This would have been attached to a bridge constructed by this company most likely in Scotland. Unrestored – 15’’ x 16’’ overall. £20
86 BR(S) CARRIAGE PRINT “ATLANTIC COAST EXPRESS” by Richard Ward. This is the second of three of the sought after Richard Ward prints that are available in this auction, featuring unrebuilt Merchant Navy 35013 Blue Funnel with ACE headboard. Good condition presented in an original frame with kite marked safety glass - 21’’ x 11’’. £400
87 GWR enamel STATION SIGN “SEASON TICKETS MUST BE SHEWN HERE” with the makers name below. Good colour and shine with minor corner losses and well matched repairs on the edges and on the word “BE” – 12’’ x 10’’. £120
88 LT brass framed enamel UNDERGROUND STATION TARGET “PICCADILLY CIRCUS” from the Central London station on the Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines. This is the later brass framed version with three separate enamel sections that insert into the back of the frame. Superb condition and a very displayable – 24’’ x 19½’’. £680

91 Brass Single line KEY TOKEN “PORTNOCKIE/PORTESSIE” from a coastal section of the ex GNS line from Elgin that closed in 1968. £150
92 SR fully titled unflanged enamel STATION SIGN “SOUTHERN RAILWAY PARKING OF CARS 2/6 WILL BE CHARGED FOR CARS PARKED HERE” with Southern Railway in sunshine lettering. Quite a bit of well matched repair on the left hand side otherwise pretty good condition and an attractive sign – 26’’ x 35’’. BTC £140
93 GWR fully titled oval brass TENDERPLATE “1968 SWINDON WORKS JUNE 1915” and stamped 3500 gallons. Locos being built at this time were Class 4300 moguls but these tenders were in general use and were later used on Castles, Halls and Granges plus existing Stars, Saints etc. A small label on the back states “4393 Built 9/1916 Withdrawn 8/1937. Front only lightly polished – superb item – 11¼’’ x 8¼’’.

94 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “BLACON” from the North Chester station which closed in 1969. Good condition with excellent colour and shine and just one repair on the bottom edge that just goes into the lower panel. Second time in auction. £610
95 BR(W) Flanged enamel DOORPLATE “PERMANENT WAY INSPECTOR” on two lines. The sign, which came from Slough station in Berkshire, has excellent colour and shine with very minor chipping around the screw holes – 18’’ x 6’’. £720

98 CLC fully titled Cast iron WARNING SIGN “Cheshire Lines Committee Notice Any Person Trespassing on this Railway Will be Prosecuted By Order” - Restored front only –  25’’ x 15’’. BTC £170
99 Oval Cast iron WORKSPLATE “BUILT 1953 HORWICH”. Locos built that year were 77006-19 and 47005-8. Ex loco condition – 10½’’ x 6’’.   £170
100 Alloy NAMEPLATE “TRE POL AND PEN” ex Class 37 No 37196 built by English Electric with works No 3374/8417 entering traffic in April 1964. The loco was named by the Cornwall County Council Chairman at Truro station in July 1985, the plates being carried until August 1987 when they were transfered to 37671 (ex 37247), being removed in December 1999. Ex loco condition with traces of earlier red paint showing through - 59’’ x 10’’. BTC

101 BR(M) Fully Flanged “TOTEM” “WIGSTON GLEN PARVA” from the Lincolnshire station that closed in 1968, being one of three stations in the town that all had totems and all closed in the 1960’s. Good colour and shine with a couple of small well matched face chip repairs and some light scuffing in the top and bottom panels. £1850
102 SHEDPLATE  “73J” TONBRIDGE. The plate has been repainted at some time - there is a clear Eastleigh triangle on the back.

103 GWR Brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “4996” from a GWR 4900 Hall Class 4-6-0 named “Eden Hall”. Allocated new to Old Oak Common in March 1931, its final sheds were Oxley, Gloucester, Cardiff Canton, Southall, Worcester, Exeter, Taunton and Cardiff Canton again. Withdrawn in September 1963 and cut up the following summer at Coopers Sharpness. The restored front has the boiler details stamped on the rim and a slight scuff on the number “6” – the back is in ex loco condition. £1850
104 SR/BR(S) unflanged enamel SIGN “TATTENHAM CORNER SUBSTATION” from the terminus station on the branch from Purley famous for the Royal train that used to bring the Queen to watch the Derby on Epsom Downs.  Very good condition – 26’’ x 6’’. £190
105 SR enamel TARGET “CLAPHAM JUNCTION” from the most famous station in the world. Good colour and shine with edge chip repairs only and presented on a replacement wooden backboard. Last in auction 2001. £620
106 BR(S) CARRIAGE PRINT “DIRECT ELECTRIC SERVICES LONDON-BRIGHTON” by Richard Ward. This is the third of three of the Richard Ward prints that are available in this auction, featuring an electric service with Pullman car going over a viaduct in Sussex. 109 Four SR brass cased SIGNAL REPEATERS all with “SIGNAL ON OFF WRONG” with needle on the face. All are in good condition but with only one brass locating screw each (4). £150
110 Wood cased Signalbox BLOCK SWITCH with lever at front that can be turned to “IN” or “OUT” and then a pin is put through to stop any accidental movement. Ex box condition being 14’’ long and 7’’ high. £60
111 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM “CLANDON” from the Surrey outer suburban station. Good condition with excellent colour and shine and just one small face chip repair on the letter “L”. This is the desirable black edged version of this totem. £640

120 GWR Cast iron Ticket and Booking office BARRIER originating from Lamborn station, the terminus of the GWR branch that was closed in 1960. The barrier consists of two ornately designed supports that include a wealth of intricate detail. They stand 37’’ high including the original oak handrail capping, with a width of 37’’. This unique and heavy item is to be collected from the Shropshire area by the successful bidder. BTC £540

122 MR wooden SIGNALBOX BOARD with metal letters “ALSTON JUNCTION” from the ex Midland signalbox on the Birmingham line leaving Cheltenham near Cheltenham High Street station (which closed in 1910). The junction was for the adjacent goods yard and gasworks. Good original condition – 78’’ x 10½’’. BTC £85
123 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “POLESWORTH”  from the Warwickshire station to the North of Nuneaton. The totem has lost quite a bit of colour and shine and is rather mottled with rusting around the edges. It could look a lot better with some restoration. £220
124 L&Y rectangular Fully Titled Cast iron 40/- TRESPASS SIGN with the company name at the top and again in the seven lines of text. Ex trackside condition - 32’’ x 22’’. BTC £50
125 Alloy NAMEPLATE “WOMAN’S GUILD” with its original alloy diamond BADGE “CHURCH OF SCOTLAND WOMAN’S GUILD” from Class 47 “47803” built by Brush with works number 618. The nameplate was originally fitted on 47563, a Crewe built loco, in April 1987 and was named by the Princess Royal at Edinburgh Waverley. The nameplates were removed in June 1992 and the loco was last reported at R.Hulls scrap yard at Rotherham. Both plates are in ex loco condition, the nameplate being 59’’ x 10’’ and the badge 14’’ x 8’’ with a repaired crack at the right hand end. BTC n/s

141 GWR brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “4078” from a GWR 4073 Castle Class 4-6-0. “Pembroke Castle” that was allocated new to Old Oak Common in February 1924. By 1948 it was at Landore where it spent some years with final short stays at Chester, Reading, Bristol Bath Road, Wolverhampton, Banbury, Old Oak Common and Llanelly. Withdrawn in July 1962 it was cut up at Hayes Bridgend in December. The front has been polished otherwise presented in ex loco condition. A very attractive early plate. £5750
142 GWR Cast iron SIGNALBOX BOARD “NEWTON ABBOT EAST BOX” from the South Devon main line station that is the junction for the lines to Plymouth and Paignton. This was a major station with both Loco Works and Shed until the 1960’s, with the large wood panelled box situated at the London end of the station until its removal in the 1980’s. This original GWR boxboard is presented in unrestored condition with three of the original bolts still in place - 90’’ x 9’’. BTC £1300
143 Oval brass WORKSPLATE “Yorkshire Engine Co Ltd No 2592 Meadow Hall Works 1955 Sheffield”, from a 0-4-0 Diesel electric No.33 owned by Lancashire Steel Manufacturing Co and allocated to Irlam Steel Works. Front only lightly polished – 11’’ x 6’’. £115
144 BR(W) TOTEM “MORETON - IN - MARSH” from the Gloucestershire station on the line from Oxford to Evesham. This is the rare early pattern flat totem and has been bent at some time through the second “M”. This has been neatly repaired and the totem is presented on an original wooden backing board. Last in auction 1999. £420

146 Brass Single line KEY TOKEN “FORRES EAST/ELGIN WEST” from a long section on the former Highland railway line from Inverness along the Moray Firth. £160
147 NUR enamel on hallmarked gold MEDAL with “National Union of Railwaymen” around a loco enameled on the front and the rear expertly engraved “Presented by the members of Blandford branch to Bro A Hoskins for services rendered during the year 1917”. An attractive item in excellent condition. £200
148 GWR PRESSURE GAUGE and valve marked “0-200 LB PER SQ IN” from the Forge shop at Swindon Works. Good condition with the brass case stamped GWR in two places – 5’’ x 8’’ overall. n/s
149 Original OIL PAINTING “KING CLASS” by David Weston with a fine image of 6023 King Edward II at speed painted in his own particular style. A very attractive work produced in 1978 and presented in a gilt frame – 27’’ x 33’’ overall. Superb. BTC £360
150 GWR NAMEPLATE “WIMPOLE HALL” and CABSIDE “5963” from a “Hall” Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon Works in July 1936. Allocated new to Landore, by 1948 it had moved further West to Carmarthen. Later sheds were Westbury and finally Bristol St. Philips Marsh. Withdrawn in June 1964 it was cut up by Birds, Risca by the end of the year. Both nameplate and cabside are in superb ex loco condition – untouched since they came off the loco. A fine set. Wimpole Hall is a famous National Trust property in Cambridgeshire. BTC n/s
