376 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “4135” from a GWR 5100 Class 2-6-2T. Allocated new to Pontypool Road in October 1939 it remained there until 1962 when it moved to Hereford. Withdrawn in June 1964 it was cut up by the end of the year at Birds, Risca. Restored some time ago. £360
377 Shropshire & Montgomeryshire Railway Permanent Wy ADLAKE No 33 LAMP. Brass plated and stamped “S&M Rly 3”. In totally ex lineside condition complete with internal vessel and burners – 17’’ x 17’’ x 9’’ deep. BTC £260
378 SAR Cabside 799 16R from a 4-6-2 loco built by NBL Glasgow with works number 20439 in 1914 as a small class of only 12 locos for the South African Railways. The plate, which has an extra mounting hole drilled through, has the front only neatly restored. £520

380 BR(E) Fully Flanged TOTEM “KINGS LYNN” from the Norfolk station on the Southern tip of the Wash. Good condition with a superb deep colour and shine with a few small well matched face chip repairs not affecting the letters. £2750

382 BR(E) Glass Station sign “MARYLAND” from the former GER station Maryland Point on the line from Stratford to Ilford. An unusual sign that must have been back lit and consists of a rear white obscure glass panel and a front blue panel with clear glass for the letters. The rear glass has broken at one end but is complete, the front is in good condition. Not much appears from this station so a surprising survivor being such a fragile item - 50’’ x 11’’. BTC

384 SR enamel TARGET “EXMOUTH” from the South Devon terminus station on the line from Exeter previously being the Junction station with the line from Budleigh Salterton. Pretty good colour and shine with some chip repairs that have been filled but not painted. £590

389 GWR PARCELS OFFICE SCALES to weigh up to one Cwt. Good original unrestored condition with makers plate “”H POOLEY & SONS LTD GWR 4038” on the rear. They stand 20’’ tall, 19’’ wide and 10’’ deep. BTC £30

393 A set of alloy numbers “E3058” believed to be ex-Class 85003/85113 built at Doncaster in June 1961. Ex loco condition with blue paint on the edges of the numbers but not the E so may just be a made up set. (5) £100
394 BR(Sc) Fully  Flanged TOTEM “ROTHES” from the former Great North of Scotland station to the South of the Moray Forth that closed in 1968. Virtually mint condition, which you don’t usually find with Scottish totems. £560
395 Alloy NAMEPLATE “GAGNY” from a French electric Locomotive Bo-Bo  “15033 “ built at Alsthom in 1975 and allocated to the Strasbourg depot. The loco was named in May 1986 after a commune in the Eastern suburbs of Paris. In August 2003 it was involved in a serious accident at Mulhouse and after a period of storage was withdrawn in January 2004 and the plates removed. Presented in excellent ex loco condition – 24’’ x 19’’ overall.

 The following two lots are a matching pair of Pullman table lamps. Both are complete, clearly marked and in good used condition but lack their shades. They have been rewired and this should be checked before use.
 
397 Brass PULLMAN TABLE LAMP  “AGATHA” from an all steel First Class Parlour Car built in Birmingham for the LNER in 1928. It later moved to the South and spent some time on holiday on the Bournemouth Belle. On withdrawal in the 1960’s the coach was on display in Britain and then the Isle of Wight, later being purchased by VSOE who have the shell stored at Stewarts Lane depot. £620
398 Brass PULLMAN TABLE LAMP “CHLORIA” from a First Class wood bodied kitchen car built by the Midland Carriage and Wagon Company in 1927 for the LNER. It later moved to the South and worked for a period on the Devon Belle. It was decommissioned and scrapped in the 1960’s. £620
399 Five Cast iron LNWR LEVER BACKPLATES from Willesden Brent sidings mounted on a backboard with inscriptions such as “NECK 1 TO SIDINGS GROUP 1”. (5) £40
400 Alloy DIESEL NAMEPLATE “Saint Bede” from Class 47 “47721” which was named at York Station in May 1995 by Mick Hawksby of Royal Mail North East Railnet team.  The loco was put into store in June 2002 and in due course the nameplates were removed. Last reported in store at Carlisle Kingmoor having been acquired by DRS. The plate, which is in totally ex loco condition, is being sold on behalf of EWS and comes with their Certificate of Authenticity. £1650

401 BR(Sc) Fully Flanged TOTEM “CAMERON BRIDGE” from the Fife station on the East coast of Scotland that closed in 1969. Undamaged, with good colour but some loss of shine with consequent mottling.

402 BR(E) oval brass WORKSPLATE “61392  1951”. From an LNER Thompson design “B1” 4-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co with works number 26851. Allocated new to New England then Grantham, Doncaster, Immingham, Canklow & Langwith Jct. Withdrawn September 1963 and cut up the same month at Doncaster Works. Ex loco condition – 12’’ x 6½’’. £260
403 GWR SACK TRUCK from THEALE in Berkshire with totally original paint featuring a GWR roundel logo, the station name Theale and the date 22-9-44. The truck stands 54’’ high and is 20’’ across the metal wheels with a 6’’ cradle to hold goods. Amazing survivor. BTC £90
404 SR brass cased Duplex PRESSURE GAUGE made by the Westinghouse and Saxby Co in London. The face is marked “S. Rly” and graduated 0-150 lbs pressure with two needles. Ex loco condition with a face diameter of 6’’. £20

411 Enamel shield shaped SIGN “MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES (ACTING FOR THE WAR OFFICE) KING’S PREMIUM LONDON 1924” with elaborate coat of arms at the top. Excellent condition with one small chip – 10’’ x 15’’ overall. £230
412 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “90529” from a War Department 2-8-0 built by the Vulcan Engine Co works number 4876 in 1943. It was numbered WD77058 and was working from Oxford Shed at nationalisation. BR renumbered it 90529 and after some years at Oxford it moved on to Southall, Carmarthen, Llanelly, Newport Ebbw Jct, Mexborough, Staveley Barrow Hill and finally Langwith. Withdrawn in November 1965, it was cut up at Drapers, Hull in February 1966. The plate has been repainted front and back although much of the paint has been removed from the back. £410

424 GWR brass CABSIDE “1141” from a Swansea Harbour Trust 0-4-0ST built by Peckett & Sons, Bristol in 1906 with works number 1053. Starting life as Swansea Harbour Trust No. 11 it became GWR 929 in October 1923 when absorbed. It was renumbered again in March 1948 becoming 1141. A Danygraig allocated locomotive, it was withdrawn in July 1952. Unusually it was cut up at Barry Works. The boiler was then fitted to 1145. The front only has been repainted. £820
425 Brass East African / Nigerian Railways locomotive nameplate “RIVER ENYONG” from a 3’ 6’’ gauge 'River' class 2-8-2 of Crown Agents Design for heavy mixed traffic duties typified by their long & large boilers, big cylinders and relatively small driving wheels.  The engines were initially supplied by North British of Glasgow in 1947 with subsequent engines built by Vulcan of Newton-le-Willows.  Several were converted to oil firing.  No less than 4 of them are preserved in various states of repair in the Nigerian Railway Museum at Ebute Metta.  Measuring 45’’ x 9’’ this substantial (heavy!) nameplate has a cleaned front and ex loco back. River Enyong is one of the major waterways in Nigeria. The buyer must collect the plate from West Yorkshire. BTC n/s

430 SHEDPLATE “70B” FELTHAM plus SC plate. The shedplate has had a lump cut out of the top for some reason and both plates have had the front repainted at some point. (2) £80
431 Set of three alloy LOCO BODY PLATES from Class 37 “37601”. This loco was the first of 10 Class 37’s that were specially modified to work on the preparation and movement of stock at the Channel Tunnel. The rings were fitted to identify them and were set with the largest at the front and the smallest at the rear. They come with a postcard sized picture of the loco and are in as removed condition having diameters of 27½’’, 16½’’ and 8½’’(3) £520

437 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “7334” from a GWR 4300 Class 2-6-0. Originally numbered 9312 when allocated new to Oxley in March 1932 and was still at the same depot when BR arrived. Still 9312 it was reallocated to Chester then Pontypool Road when it was renumbered 7334 in January 1959. 7334’s final shed was Carmarthen from where it was withdrawn in April 1962. In June 1963 it was cut up at Swindon Works. Attractively restored front and back. £250

441 Prussian State Railways convex brass WORKSPLATE “No 5627 of 1915” from a T-16 (1) 0-10-0T number 8137 that was renumbered DRB 94.2-4 in 1925. The plate has been repainted and the front polished – 6½‘’ x 4½’’. £60

445 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “4088” from a GWR 4-6-0 “Castle Class” named “Dartmouth Castle”. A Plymouth Laira engine when new in July 1925 it was still there at nationalisation in 1948. It received a double chimney in June 1958 and was finally shedded at Worcester, Swindon and Bristol St. Philips Marsh. Withdrawn in July 1964 it was cut up in September by Cohens at Morriston, Swansea. Repainted some time ago.

446 East African Railways brass NAMEPLATE “GIRYAMA” from a Class 29 Tribal 2-8-2 No “2911”. This was a metre gauge loco being one of a Class of 31 built between 1951 and 1955 by the North British Locomotive Company. The loco was an oil burner and was used on Pick Up Goods and as a reserve for when more powerful engines were not available. Also included are the Smokebox and Cabside Numberplate also in brass. All have been face restored only. A very attractive set. (3) n/s
447 Oval Cast iron WORKSPLATE “BUILT 1958 DONCASTER”. Locos built that year were D2044-9, D3500-2, D3680-6. Front only repainted – 10½’’ x 6’’. £75
448 Brass Single Line KEY TOKEN “FORSINARD/GEORGEMAS” from a long section on the ex Highland railway line to Wick. £130
449 GWR distant loop enamel SIGNAL BLADE, being a yellow arm 27’’ x 8’’ with a white 16’’ diameter hoop through. Very unusual and in ex lineside condition. £85
