complete, the front is in good condition. Not much appears from
this station so a surprising survivor being such a fragile item

“15033 “ built at Alsthom in 1975 and allocated to the
Strasbourg depot. The loco was named in May 1986 after a commune
in the Eastern suburbs of Paris. In August 2003 it was involved
in a serious accident at Mulhouse and after a period of storage
was withdrawn in January 2004 and the plates removed. Presented
in excellent ex loco condition – 24’’ x 19’’ overall. |

Brass PULLMAN TABLE LAMP “AGATHA” from an all steel First Class
Parlour Car built in Birmingham for the LNER in 1928. It later
moved to the South and spent some time on holiday on the
Bournemouth Belle. On withdrawal in the 1960’s the coach was on
display in Britain and then the Isle of Wight, later being
purchased by VSOE who have the shell stored at Stewarts Lane
depot. |

bodied kitchen car built by the Midland Carriage and Wagon
Company in 1927 for the LNER. It later moved to the South and
worked for a period on the Devon Belle. It was decommissioned

was named at York Station in May 1995 by Mick Hawksby of Royal
Mail North East Railnet team. The loco was put into store in
June 2002 and in due course the nameplates were removed. Last
reported in store at Carlisle Kingmoor having been acquired by
DRS. The plate, which is in totally ex loco condition, is being
sold on behalf of EWS and comes with their Certificate of
Authenticity. |

BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “90529” from a War Department
2-8-0 built by the Vulcan Engine Co works number 4876 in 1943.
It was numbered WD77058 and was working from Oxford Shed at
nationalisation. BR renumbered it 90529 and after some years at
Oxford it moved on to Southall, Carmarthen, Llanelly, Newport
Ebbw Jct, Mexborough, Staveley Barrow Hill and finally Langwith.
Withdrawn in November 1965, it was cut up at Drapers, Hull in
February 1966. The plate has been repainted front and back
although much of the paint has been removed from the back. |

Swansea Harbour Trust
0-4-0ST built by Peckett & Sons, Bristol in 1906 with works number
1053. Starting life as Swansea Harbour Trust No. 11 it became GWR
929 in October 1923 when absorbed. It was renumbered again in March
1948 becoming 1141. A Danygraig allocated locomotive, it was
withdrawn in July 1952. Unusually it was cut up at Barry Works. The
boiler was then fitted to 1145. The front only has been repainted. |

Brass East African / Nigerian Railways locomotive nameplate
“RIVER ENYONG” from a 3’ 6’’ gauge 'River' class 2-8-2 of Crown
Agents Design for heavy mixed traffic duties typified by their
long & large boilers, big cylinders and relatively small driving
wheels. The engines were initially supplied by North British of
Glasgow in 1947 with subsequent engines built by Vulcan of
Newton-le-Willows. Several were converted to oil firing. No
less than 4 of them are preserved in various states of repair in
the Nigerian Railway Museum at Ebute Metta. Measuring 45’’ x
9’’ this substantial (heavy!) nameplate has a cleaned front and
ex loco back. River Enyong is one of the major waterways in
Nigeria. The buyer must collect the plate from West Yorkshire.

when it was renumbered 7334 in January 1959. 7334’s final shed
was Carmarthen from where it was withdrawn in April 1962. In
June 1963 it was cut up at Swindon Works. Attractively restored

“Castle Class” named “Dartmouth Castle”. A Plymouth Laira engine
when new in July 1925 it was still there at nationalisation in
1948. It received a double chimney in June 1958 and was finally
shedded at Worcester, Swindon and Bristol St. Philips Marsh.
Withdrawn in July 1964 it was cut up in September by Cohens at
Morriston, Swansea. Repainted some time ago. |

East African Railways brass NAMEPLATE “GIRYAMA” from a Class 29
Tribal 2-8-2 No “2911”. This was a metre gauge loco being one of
a Class of 31 built between 1951 and 1955 by the North British
Locomotive Company. The loco was an oil burner and was used on
Pick Up Goods and as a reserve for when more powerful engines
were not available. Also included are the Smokebox and Cabside
Numberplate also in brass. All have been face restored only. A
very attractive set. (3) |
