The sign has three sections of enamel with an alloy frame that
screws to the wall and holds the sign together. Good condition

working life at Polmadie MPD. Withdrawn in June 1960 and
scrapped at Cowlairs Works by the end of the month. Front only
repainted. |

LNER Brass A4 CHIME WHISTLE ex Kingfisher BR 60024. Its LNER
number was 4483 and was built at Doncaster in 1936 with works
number 1848. A true Scottish A4 working from Haymarket and then
in the final years it was one of the famous few to work the
Aberdeen Expresses from Glasgow. Withdrawn in September 1966 it
was later cut up at Hughes Blockows Ltd North Blyth in February
1967. The whistle was obtained by a fitter at West Hartlepool
shed when the engine was undergoing overhaul who sold it on to
pay towards a kitchen! The whistle comes with various letters
from previous owners and other items of paperwork and a postcard
sized photo of the loco. A superb item standing 16’’ high.

GWR brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “6973” from a 6959 Modified Hall
Class 4-6-0 named “Bricklehampton Hall” A long time Old Oak
Common engine with short visits to Oxford, Cardiff East Dock,
Neath, Severn Tunnel Jct. and Bristol Barrow Road from where it
was withdrawn in August 1965. It was cut up just over a year
later at Cashmores Newport. The front has been polished and
repainted the back is unrestored. |

Peppercorn
“A1” Class Pacific 4-6-2 “60116” named “Hal o’ the Wynd “ Built
at Doncaster with works number 2033 in 1948 it was first
allocated to Heaton in October from where it worked for a number
of years before transferring to Tweedmouth and finally
Gateshead. Withdrawn in June 1965 it was stored at Tyne Dock and
later cut up at Hughes Blockows Ltd. North Blyth in November the
same year. Front lightly polished with the unrestored back
clearly stamped "116" – 13½’’ x 7½’’. |

Alloy DIESEL NAMEPLATE “SAINT DAVID DEWI SANT”, on two lines,
which was applied to Class 47 “47790” at Swansea High Street
station in March 1995 when the loco was named by the Managing
Director of BR Freight Group. The nameplates were removed in
January 2003 when DRS acquired the locomotive and having been
refurbished it is now back at work. The plate, which is in
totally ex loco condition, is being sold on behalf of EWS and
comes with their Certificate of Authenticity |

200-piece puzzle made from 1936 – 1939 and the most difficult of
the wooden GWR puzzles to obtain. The puzzle is complete and in

paper loss to the background although the main stick on items
are pretty much o.k. An attractive puzzle and probably scarce
due to many being lost during the war. |

BR cast alloy LION HOLDING WHEEL EMBLEM from a Class 86 electric
loco. This plate was on E3110, which on 6th November 1965 was
the first ever electric loco to run into Euston drawing power
from the 25kV overhead lines. The vendors father was the BR(M)
Electric Traction Engineer at the time and the plate was
presented to him on the changeover to double arrows. The best I
have seen, in ex loco condition with the face lightly polished.

refurbishment and in fact the correct build date is 1968 and
builder English Electric rather than GEC! Cleaned of paint –

BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “44858” from an LMS Class “5”
4-6-0 built at Crewe in 1944. Latterly shedded at Sheffield,
Nottingham, Saltley, Derby, Burton, Annesley and Carlisle
Kingmoor it was withdrawn in December 1967 and cut up by Wards
at Beighton, Sheffield in March the following year. The engine
pulled the last BR steam working out of Marylebone station. The
plate is partially repainted front and back. |

Alloy NAMEPLATE “LOCH EIL” ex Class 37 No 37027 built by English
Electric as 2890/D606 in 1961. The locomotive was named “Loch
Eil” in October 1981 at Glasgow Queen Street station by the Lord
Lieutenant of Inverness in what they called a twinning with the
Scottish Loch and the railway. The nameplates were removed in
February 1987 and the loco later renumbered 37519. Ex loco
condition – 33’’ x 10’’. |

that was built at Swindon and entered traffic at Oswestry in
January 1954. Other Western Region sheds were Shrewsbury,

at Machynelleth, Stoke, Tebay and Carnforth. Withdrawn in
November 1967 it was cut up at Birds Long Marston in April 1968.
Restored and possibly a BR(M) replacement as the casting is not
of the usual Swindon quality. |

line between Bishops Stortford and Cambridge. There is a glass
panel on one side “ELSENHAM” and the top of the case is also
plated “ELSENHAM”. Good overall condition with the corner

The lamp, which stands 29’’ tall, is in pretty much ex station
condition but does not have a burner with it. BTC |

Philips Marsh followed by Penzance and Oxley. Withdrawn in
October 1965 it was cut up at Cohens Kettering in March 1966.
Buckenhill Grange is at Bromyard in Herefordshire. The plate has
been restored and polished, the cabside possibly repainted. A
very attractive set. BT |
