301 LT Underground alloy framed enamel STATION TARGET SIGN “BANK”. The sign has three sections of enamel with an alloy frame that screws to the wall and holds the sign together. Good condition with slight damage around a couple of screw holes – 24’’ x 20’’. £220
302 GWR Cast iron TENDERPLATE “ GWR 2053 3500 gallons”. These tenders were built in 1919. Locos being built at this time were Class 4300 moguls but the tenders were in general use and were later used on Castles, Halls and Granges plus existing Stars, Saints etc so take your pick! Repainted – 8½’’ x 6’’. £100
303 SHEDPLATE “8F” SPRING BRANCH (Wigan). Front only repainted. £80
304 LBSCR brass cased SIGNAL REPEATER with “LBSCR 844” on the green painted face and a miniature distant signal arm with “ON/OFF” positions. At the top is a brass plate “11”. Ex box condition – diameter 3½’’. £230
305 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “56292” from a Caledonian McIntosh Class 0-6-0T of 1896 design. Originally numbered 642 it became 16292 on the take over by the LMS. British Railways changed it to 56292 and in this guise it spent the rest of working life at Polmadie MPD. Withdrawn in June 1960 and scrapped at Cowlairs Works by the end of the month. Front only repainted. £1350
306 CARRIAGE PRINT “BOLTON ABBEY, WHARFEDALE” by Frank Sherwin. The print, which has two minor creases, is inside a mount and in a modern glazed frame - 22’’ x 12’’. £40
307 Enamel ADVERTISING SIGN “SMOKE WILD WOODBINE CIGARETTES” in good original condition with chipping on the edges and around the screw holes. Attractive vertical format with black/red writing on a white background – 4’’ x 40’’. £130
308 LNER Cast iron SEATBACK “ARROCHAR & TARBET” from the ex NBR Scottish Highlands station to the West of Loch Lomond. Superb ex station condition – 50’’ x 4½’’. £700
309 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “MOIRA” from the Leicestershire station to the South of Derby. Good colour but with some loss of shine. There is slight scuffing to the face and a couple of small well matched chip repairs at the edges. £820
310 BR(M) enamel DR & QR POSTERBOARD HEADERS “BRITISH RAILWAYS”. Both are in good condition with excellent colour and shine being 50’’ and 25’’ x 5¾’’. (2) £150
311 LNER Brass A4 CHIME WHISTLE ex Kingfisher BR 60024. Its LNER number was 4483 and was built at Doncaster in 1936 with works number 1848. A true Scottish A4 working from Haymarket and then in the final years it was one of the famous few to work the Aberdeen Expresses from Glasgow. Withdrawn in September 1966 it was later cut up at Hughes Blockows Ltd North Blyth in February 1967. The whistle was obtained by a fitter at West Hartlepool shed when the engine was undergoing overhaul who sold it on to pay towards a kitchen! The whistle comes with various letters from previous owners and other items of paperwork and a postcard sized photo of the loco. A superb item standing 16’’ high.  £3650
312 GWR brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “6973” from a 6959 Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 named “Bricklehampton Hall” A long time Old Oak Common engine with short visits to Oxford, Cardiff East Dock, Neath, Severn Tunnel Jct. and Bristol Barrow Road from where it was withdrawn in August 1965. It was cut up just over a year later at Cashmores Newport. The front has been polished and repainted the back is unrestored. £1750
313 LNER oval brass WORKSPLATE “No 2033 DONCASTER 1948” from a Peppercorn “A1” Class Pacific 4-6-2 “60116” named  “Hal o’ the Wynd “ Built at Doncaster with works number 2033 in 1948 it was first allocated to Heaton in October from where it worked for a number of years before transferring to Tweedmouth and finally Gateshead. Withdrawn in June 1965 it was stored at Tyne Dock and later cut up at Hughes Blockows Ltd. North Blyth in November the same year. Front  lightly polished with the unrestored back clearly stamped "116" – 13½’’ x 7½’’. £3350
314 BR(W) Half Flanged TOTEM “EXETER ST DAVIDS” from one Devon’s best known stations. Good condition with excellent colour and shine and just a couple of small face chips – one of which has been repaired. £1900
315 Limited edition unsigned CUNEO PRINT “THE PASS TRACK” showing locos Linda and Merddin Emrys passing at Tan-y-Bwlch on the Festiniog railway. The print is signed by four people involved with this railway including Alan Pegler and is No 3 of 350. Excellent rolled condition – 28’’ x 24’’. £80
316 LYR titled Cast iron TELEGRAPH POST SIGN warning that persons throwing stones at the telegraphs will be prosecuted. Curved to fit to the pole and in superb unrestored condition – 5½’’ x 7½’’ overall. £210

319 Enamel STATION SIGN “IT IS DANGEROUS TO DROP LIGHTED MATCHES ETC” with the suppliers name “The Liverpool & London & Globe Insurance Co Ltd” below. Some chipping particularly around the screw holes but a very displayable 18’’ x 10’’. £15
320 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “TAMWORTH” from the Staffordshire station between Nuneaton and Lichfield. Poor condition with a crease at the left hand end, central chipping and loss of colour and shine to a mottled finish. A challenge for the restorer! £200
321 GWR fully titled Cast iron SIGNALBOX DOORPLATE “No Unauthorized person is allowed in this box by order”. The face only has been neatly repainted at some time. A good example of this popular sign – 11’’ x 8½’’. £130
322 CRUCHLEYS Railway map of the County of CORNWALL. Dated January 1st 1855.  It folds out to 22’’ x 20’’ and shows all the Railways & Stations in the County plus an inset of the Scilly Isles. Good condition overall. £40
323 SR enamel STATION SIGN “PLATFORMS 7 AND 8”. Believed to have been located at Clapham Junction station. Good colour and shine with one small well matched chip repair around a top screw hole – 30’’ x 12’’. £120

325 Alloy DIESEL NAMEPLATE “SAINT DAVID DEWI SANT”, on two lines, which was applied to Class 47 “47790” at Swansea High Street station in March 1995 when the loco was named by the Managing Director of BR Freight Group. The nameplates were removed in January 2003 when DRS acquired the locomotive and having been refurbished it is now back at work. The plate, which is in totally ex loco condition, is being sold on behalf of EWS and comes with their Certificate of Authenticity £1900

327 BR(M) Half Flanged TOTEM “PRESTON” from the Lancashire West coast main line station. The totem has undergone major restoration and now has good colour and shine and for display is much better than the usual faded specimens. £470
328 GWR Chad Valley wooden JIGSAW PUZZLE “LOCOS IN THE MAKING”. A 200-piece puzzle made from 1936 – 1939 and the most difficult of the wooden GWR puzzles to obtain. The puzzle is complete and in excellent condition, the box is worn and a little damaged with paper loss to the background although the main stick on items are pretty much o.k. An attractive puzzle and probably scarce due to many being lost during the war. £310
329 Early glass LONDON STREET SIGN “CITY OF WESTMINSTER MEDWAY STREET S.W.” presented in its original wooden frame. Medway Street is between Westminster Abbey and St James Park. A great decorators item in undamaged condition – 36’’ x 13’’. BTC £55
330 BR cast alloy LION HOLDING WHEEL EMBLEM from a Class 86 electric loco. This plate was on E3110, which on 6th November 1965 was the first ever electric loco to run into Euston drawing power from the 25kV overhead lines. The vendors father was the BR(M) Electric Traction Engineer at the time and the plate was presented to him on the changeover to double arrows. The best I have seen, in ex loco condition with the face lightly polished. £820

One side has “THIRD CLASS METROPOLITAN RAILWAY HARROW ON THE HILL & BAKER STREET” and the other “SEASON TICKET” with the managers’ name below and a central circle to mark the owner and expiry date. There is minor chipping to the “Season Ticket” side. There is a loop through the top to attach to key fob etc – attractive and unusual -1½’’ x 2’’. £210

336 GWR late 19th Century Office/Waiting Room OIL LAMP. The lamp consists of an ornate Cast iron base with “GWR” embossed underneath. On top of this rests the original brass cased burner with a replacement glass funnel. The item is unrestored with the base showing signs of its original gilding and the vessel some knocks from use – stands 26’’ tall. £410

339 NWR India brass BUILDERS PLATE “NORTH WESTERN RAILWAY LOCO No 23 LAHORE”, from a 5’ 6’’ gauge Class P 2-4-0 tender engine that was assembled, with parts sent out from Britain, at Lahore workshops between 1895 – 1907. Circular with crown on top and shield in centre with loco in relief. Attractive and unusual small item – 4½’’ x 6½’’ overall. £160

344 Rectangular brass WORKSPLATE “GEC TRACTION VULCAN WORKS 1254 1969” from a 500hp 0-6-0DH that went new to the Lancashire Steel Corporation at their Irlam Works and later moved to Llanwern Works at Newport. This plate was fitted in 1975 after a GEC refurbishment and in fact the correct build date is 1968 and builder English Electric rather than GEC! Cleaned of paint – 10’’ x 4½’’. £160
345 SR DR POSTER “ROYAL TUNBRIDGE WELLS”. By Clodagh Sparrow featuring an attractive and colourful view of the town. The poster has been mounted on linen and is in excellent condition although in the bottom right had corner it has been stamped “Commission Romande de la Ligne du Simplon Lausanne”, so presumably the poster was destined for Switzerland at some point - 27’’ x 43’’ overall. £250
346 UNDERGROUND RAILWAYS DR POSTER dated 4/27 showing a 1920’s style picture of a family by a park. Below this is the legend “COUNTRY EXCURSIONS” with a space “Post Hounslow and Harrow sticker here” and at the bottom the attractive “UNDERGROUND” logo. Excellent condition with one tiny edge tear at the top – rolled only – 25’’ x 40’’. £90

349 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “44858” from an LMS Class “5” 4-6-0 built at Crewe in 1944. Latterly shedded at Sheffield, Nottingham, Saltley, Derby, Burton, Annesley and Carlisle Kingmoor it was withdrawn in December 1967 and cut up by Wards at Beighton, Sheffield in March the following year. The engine pulled the last BR steam working out of Marylebone station. The plate is partially repainted front and back. £440
350 Alloy NAMEPLATE “LOCH EIL” ex Class 37 No 37027 built by English Electric as 2890/D606 in 1961. The locomotive was named “Loch Eil” in October 1981 at Glasgow Queen Street station by the Lord Lieutenant of Inverness in what they called a twinning with the Scottish Loch and the railway. The nameplates were removed in February 1987 and the loco later renumbered 37519. Ex loco condition – 33’’ x 10’’. £3100

351 BR(Sc) Half flanged TOTEM “LUGTON” from the Ayrshire station to the South West of Glasgow that closed in 1966. Undamaged but has lost its shine and the colour is somewhat faded with staining. Second time available. £520

353 SHEDPLATE “75A” BRIGHTON. Front only repainted some time ago. The plate has been broken at some time & neatly welded which has covered part of the Eastleigh triangle. £85
354 LNWR miniature Single line STAFF “OAKENGATES/HADLEY JUNCTION” from a closed branch line to Madeley in Shropshire. Good undamaged condition. £160
355 Alloy oval WORKSPLATE “BUILT 1953 SWINDON”. Locos built that year were 46515-27 and 75020-4/30-49. Ex loco condition, probably a later replacement plate used when the original cast iron one was lost or broken. £75
356 BR Cast iron Standard SMOKEBOX “75024” from a BR Class “4” 4-6-0 that was built at Swindon and entered traffic at Oswestry in January 1954. Other Western Region sheds were Shrewsbury, Oxford, Swindon and Tyseley before transferring to the Midland at Machynelleth, Stoke, Tebay and Carnforth. Withdrawn in November 1967 it was cut up at Birds Long Marston in April 1968. Restored and possibly a BR(M) replacement as the casting is not of the usual Swindon quality. £140
357 GER STATION LAMP TOP from Elsenham station located on the ex GER line between Bishops Stortford and Cambridge. There is a glass panel on one side “ELSENHAM” and the top of the case is also plated “ELSENHAM”. Good overall condition with the corner finials intact and with all its glasses although one is cracked. The lamp, which stands 29’’ tall, is in pretty much ex station condition but does not have a burner with it. BTC £260
358 LT brass framed enamel UNDERGROUND STATION TARGET “HOLBORN” from the Central London station on the Piccadilly and Central lines. This is the later brass framed version with three separate enamel sections that insert into the back of the frame. Superb condition and a very displayable – 24’’ x 19½’’. £410

370 GNR, NER and NBR jointly produced POSTER “EAST COAST ROUTE SHORTEST ROUTE TO AND FROM SCOTLAND”, giving the train timetable for the various companies from Kings Cross to Mallaig for the period October 1902 - April 1903. The poster has been mounted on card and there are slight losses at the top but an early and attractive item. Presented in a glazed frame – 27’’ x 42’’. BTC £80
371 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM  “BROCKLEY” from the suburban station in South East London. Virtually mint condition. £350
372 Rectangular black on white enamel “POST OFFICE LETTER BOX” with “GR” and crown above. This version has a letter slot and was mounted on the front of a post box. Good colour and shine with a few small rusty chips mainly around the screw holes – 12’’ x 14’’. £130
373 MR Cast iron BOUNDARY POST formed from a piece of rail with a flat head embossed “MR”. Repainted - a heavy item being 51’’ long. BTC £75
374 Alloy rectangular WAGONPLATE “RETURN EMPTY TO DITTON SLEEPER DEPOT” from a track maintenance vehicle. Unrestored – 14’’ x 6’’. £20
375 GWR NAMEPLATE “BUCKENHILL GRANGE” and brass CABSIDE “6830” from a GWR “Grange” Class 4-6-0 locomotive that was allocated new to Newport Ebbw Jct in August 1937. By 1948 it was at Bristol St. Philips Marsh followed by Penzance and Oxley. Withdrawn in October 1965 it was cut up at Cohens Kettering in March 1966. Buckenhill Grange is at Bromyard in Herefordshire. The plate has been restored and polished, the cabside possibly repainted. A very attractive set. BT n/s
