station with a paper map or possibly a relief map of the Dover

is neatly restored – 8½’’ x 6½’’. |

built for the Ministry of Supply by Vulcan & Co. in 1944 with
works number 5143 and numbered WD 79200. Its first BR shed was
Woodford Halse and later it moved to Wigan. Withdrawn in July
1963 it was cut up at Crewe Works in September of that year. Ex
loco condition. |

Brass diamond WORKSPLATE “North British Locomotive Co Ltd 1943
No. 25102” from a 2-8-0 WD “90199” which was numbered WD 77231
before British Railways acquired it. A Scottish loco, it was
shedded at Dunfermline, Thornton Jct, Grangemouth, Polmadie,
Grangemouth and Dunfermline. Withdrawn in November 1966 it was
cut up at Arnott Young, Old Kilpatrick the following May. Ex
loco condition – 13’’ x 5½’’. |

LSWR enamel LOCO CAB NOTICE “WARNING it is dangerous to lean out
of the cab when passing stations or other structures. When
necessary to lean out BE CAREFUL”. Examples from this company
are difficult to find and this one came from LSWR L11 No 171,
which was an oil burner and was withdrawn from Eastleigh in
August 1951. The good condition sign is attractively presented
on a small polished wooden board and has a picture of 30171 on a
train in 1951. The plate is 8’’ x 3½’’ and the board overall is
13’’ x 8’’. |

Alloy DIESEL NAMEPLATE “ROYAL MAIL” from a Class 47 number 47549
named at St Pancras Station in September 1986, by Sir Ronald
Dearing the Post Office Chairman, at the relaunch of the TPO
service. The plates were removed in June 1991 shortly before the
locomotive was withdrawn. Stored at Crewe Works for some years
it was scrapped there in July 1995. The front has been cleaned
and repainted the back is ex loco. |
