79 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX SELF-CLEANING PLATE. These were mounted around the shedplate on locos that were that way inclined. Front only restored. £60

85 GNR Early SKELETON TICKET DATING MACHINE – complete with its type wheels and pad. Unrestored standing 8” high. £240
86 BR(S) CARRIAGE PRINT “MAIN LINE PASSENGER SERVICES MAP” with “SOUTHERN” in totem. Dated April 1959 it shows the entire South of England Network. In excellent used condition in its original glazed frame – 22½” x 11”. £80
87 NER early wood / bone GUARDS WHISTLE clearly marked on the rear “NER”. Ex use condition in full working order. £30
88 Large Brass and Copper LEVEL CROSSING LAMP. Very ornate with the rectangular brass body plated “544” and the chimney made of copper. The lamp has two steel hanging brackets attached to the rear and both red glasses are intact but unfortunately there is no vessel and burner. We are not sure where this is from – possibly abroad – but an attractive lamp standing 20” high. £10

100 Alloy NAMEPLATE “SEVERN” ex D1959/47513. Built by Brush in 1967 with works number 621. The loco was named at Old Oak Common in March 1979 and the plates were removed in January 1997 when the locomotive was withdrawn and put into store. It was finally scrapped at Booths Rotherham in May 2004.Totally displayable ex loco condition with two rivets still in place – 33” x 10” (Comes with its EWS authenticity certificate) £4250

101 BR(W) Flanged STATION “TOTEM” enamel “KINGS NYMPTON” from the ex LSWR line from Exeter to Barnstaple Junction. Only two stations had these early totem type enamels where the totem was squashed and lengthened on the face of a rectangular flanged sign. They were lamppost mounted and finished off with wooden ends. A little mottled and stained but a must have for the serious totem collector (or even the flippant one) – 38” x 8” with its original brackets still attached. (See lot 324) £1750
102 SHEDPLATE  “70G” NEWPORT (I.O.W.) then Weymouth. The front only has been restored on this plate, which was obtained by a fireman who worked in Newport shed. £310

following four lots are 35mm colour slides taken on agfacolor film from the 1960’s to 1980’s - most carry the date and location. They are the remainder of a collection taken by a young photographer with a good camera and are of variable quality. They are unpublished and come with copyright.

119 GWR Cast iron TENDERPLATE “GWR 2709 4000 GALLONS SWINDON” The plate is from one of a batch of tenders built in 1937 for fitting to the new build of Castles and Halls. Unrestored with a list on the back of the locos that used the tender – 8” x 6”. £260
120 BR SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “52252” from a Lancashire & Yorkshire Class ‘27’ 0-6-0 tender engine of 1889 design. Latterly shedded at Royston and Goole, it was withdrawn in November 1960 and cut up at Horwich works early in the following year. In totally ex loco condition with plenty of soot on the back!  £530

134 BR(Sc) Fully Flanged TOTEM  “ST ANDREWS” from the Fife station, closed in 1969, famous for its golf course. Excellent colour and shine with just one well-matched central chip repair. Only the second outing for a great Scottish name. £4150
135 BR(S) white on dark green enamel STATION SIGN “WRAYSBURY STATION - WINDSOR TRAINS TICKET OFFICE AND LONDON TRAINS OVER BRIDGE” - with feathered arrow below in opposite colours. At the top is “SOUTHERN” in totem. An interesting sign with good colour and shine and just a few chip repairs – 54” x 48”. To be collected from Chelmsford or could be delivered within 100 miles for the petrol cost.

138 Alloy Single line KEY TOKEN “NEWQUAY / ST DENNIS JC” from the first section of the ex GWR line from the North Cornwall seaside town. Restored with yellow paint. £90
139 SR enamel SEATBACK “HILDENBOROUGH” from the Kent station on the line between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. It appears to have been reduced in length, as there are small repairs at either end. Good colour and shine with minor chipping around the screw holes – 27” x 3”. £130
140 GWR linen backed ink DRAWING detailing the relaying of track at SEVERN TUNNEL JUNCTION dated June 1920 – 84” x 26” rolled. £30
141 LNWR fusee 12” dial STATION CLOCK. The original face, which has lost some paint, is marked “L&NW RY No6”. The case is stamped in two places “L&NW” and has a small round brass plate engraved, “CLOCK No 6”. Although the bottom door and two pegs are missing, it has its pendulum and key and is a genuine railway clock, which just needs some loving care to restore it to its former self. £360

150 GWR Brass CABSIDE “1007” from a Class 1000 4-6-0 tender engine named “County of Brecknock” which entered traffic, unnamed, in December 1945 at Bristol Bath Road.  It was named in January 1948 and later shedded at Truro, Exeter and finally Didcot. Withdrawn in October 1962 it was cut up a year later at Kings, Norwich. The plate has been attractively face restored only. £5100
