GWR Cast iron CABSIDE “5225” from a Class 5200 2-8-0T built at
Swindon in May 1924. The loco was finished in full passenger
livery and was exhibit No 41 at the Stockton and Darlington
Centenary exhibition at Faverdale Works. Its first allocation
was Newport Ebbw Junction – later it was allocated to Llanelly,
Bristol St Philips Marsh, Bristol Barrow Road and finally back
to Llanelly. Withdrawn in July 1964 it was cut up at Swindon
Works in September that year. Attractively restored and comes
with three photos of the loco at work. |

Alloy diamond WORKSPLATE “North British Locomotive Co Ltd 1959
No 27855 The General Electric Company Ltd” - ex Class 21/29
“D6125”. Allocated new to Ipswich in September 1959 it soon
moved to Scotland, however its life was very short as after
collision damage in March 1964 it was not used again and was
eventually condemned in December 1967. After storage at Glasgow
it was cut up at Barnes and Bell in Coatbridge during the summer
of 1968. Front only repainted. |

Alloy NAMEPLATE “MEAUX” from a French electric Locomotive
“BB15023”. The loco was built at Alsthom in 1975, named in May
1976 and allocated to the Strasbourg depot. The plates were
removed in 2004. Meaux is a small town to the East of Paris The
plate, which is in totally ex loco condition, is 19” x 24”
overall and the makers name and lot number are cast in the back.
This would make a very attractive addition to any collection
particularly if you are a cat lover! BTC |
