301 BR(NE) Flangeless TOTEM “PONTEFRACT TANSHELF”  from one of the three Pontefract stations which surprisingly all had totems. Flangeless with good colour and shine and just a few well-matched chip repairs to look good. Presented on a BR wooden backing board. Very rare. £1750
302 SR polished brass heavy duty SWITCH stamped “SR” and with plates “ON”, “OFF”. Unusual item - possibly shipping. The internal mechanism has been removed and it has been attractively mounted on a piece of hardwood - 10” x 8” overall.

314 BR(W) Half Flanged TOTEM “BRENT” from the South Devon station between Totnes and Plymouth that was the junction for the Kingsbridge branch and closed in 1964. Good colour and shine with rusting to the flange and edges - some parts of the brackets still attached. A rare Devon totem having only its second outing in auction. £1600

323 BR(S) enamel sign” KENLEY T.P. HUT” from a trackside hut used to equalize current on third rail lines when trains pass in opposite directions. Kenley is on the branch line to Caterham in Surrey and is famous for its WW2 aerodrome – Excellent condition – 26” x 6” £80

325 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM “SOUTHERN”. A very unusual item having dimensions of 60” x 16” and lacking the cross face lines seen on the normal totem layout. Good colour and shine and a must have for the person who has everything! BTC £1000

329 Terence Cuneo Limited Edition Print “KING GEORGE V” showing the down Royal Duchy leaving Dainton Tunnel. The print, signed by Cuneo and Peter Prior, is no.434 of 850 and is mint condition presented in an attractive glazed frame and comes with its Certificate of Authenticity  – 32” x 26” overall. £260

342 Brass Single line KEY TOKEN “HALWILL JCT / LAUNCESTON 8” - a section from the ex LSWR North Cornwall line closed in 1966. The key end has been removed by BR as happened to all keys from this section. £140
343 GWR PASSENGER TIMETABLE for July to September 1938. It comes with its original map in the back and has 280 pages. The cover is loose but the contents are complete and in good order – 8” x 12”. £30
344 LT card CARRIAGE MAP showing the Metropolitan Line from Harrow to Aylesbury. With LT in target. Losses to all four corners and some foxing – 24½” x 8½”. £30

349 BR Alloy DOUBLE ARROW EMBLEM being the smaller version from a Class 08 Diesel Shunter. Ex loco condition and a very displayable – 18½” x 12”. £50
350 GWR NAMEPLATE “WICK HALL” and brass CABSIDE “5995” from a GWR “Hall” Class 4-6-0 loco that was allocated new to Stafford Road in January 1940 and was still there when British Railways took over. It remained a Wolverhampton loco, but at Oxley, from where it was withdrawn in April 1963. Obviously “fast tracked” at Swindon Works, it had met its fate by the end of June that year. Generally ex loco condition with a couple of knocks to the beading and as balanced a Hall set as you could get! - Wick Hall is in Oxfordshire one mile South of Radley. BTC £7800

352 Chromed Brass Class 37 rectangular WORKSPLATE “The English Electric Co Ltd Vulcan Works Newton-Le-Willows England No 3423/D881 1963” ex D6937/37237 and later 37893. New to Cardiff Canton in May 1964 it was withdrawn from traffic in Jan 2001. After being tarted up it was sent to Italy but has now arrived back in this Country and was last reported in store at Bescot.. Ex loco condition front and back. £310

357 NER volume of PLANS for railway construction during the Sessions of 1887 for works in Durham and at Selby, Hull and Haswell. A substantial and heavy bound volume, with each of the 46 pages folding out to 40” x 27”. There is some damage to the spine and the front and back pages, but otherwise pretty good and certainly a useful reference work. BTC £50

372 CARRIAGE PRINT ADVERT “HOLIDAY RUNABOUT TICKETS” by Arthur Mills from the Western region series. The print has damage and staining to the top and bottom edges but the image has good colour and this is a difficult carriage advert to obtain Presented In original glazed frame with kite marked safety glass – 26” x 11”. £65
373 Brass Single line KEY TOKEN “ARROCHAR / GLEN DOUGLAS” from a section on the picturesque ex North British line among the Scottish lochs. £220
374 Soft covered BOOK “The Handbook of the Bluebell line”. This is the first edition published in 1960 following the re opening of the railway in the Spring of that year. Excellent condition – 20 pages. £5
375 SR brass NAMEPLATE  "SIR UWAINE" from a King Arthur Class 4-6-0 that was one of the batch known as "Scotch Arthurs". This loco was built by the North British Co Ltd in 1925 with works number 23237 and SR number 791. Its BR number was 30791 and in its later years it was allocated to both Eastern and Western divisions of the Southern Region at Nine Elms, Stewarts Lane and Eastleigh from where it was withdrawn in May 1960. It was immediately cut up at the nearby works. The plate, which is in excellent ex loco condition with original paint and just the face polished, is clearly stamped on the back “791”. (See lot 376 for the Smokebox Numberplate). BTC
