Chromed Brass Class 37 rectangular WORKSPLATE “The English
Electric Co Ltd Vulcan Works Newton-Le-Willows England No
3423/D881 1963” ex D6937/37237 and later 37893. New to Cardiff
Canton in May 1964 it was withdrawn from traffic in Jan 2001.
After being tarted up it was sent to Italy but has now arrived
back in this Country and was last reported in store at Bescot..

SR brass
NAMEPLATE "SIR UWAINE" from a King Arthur Class 4-6-0 that was
one of the batch known as "Scotch Arthurs". This loco was built
by the North British Co Ltd in 1925 with works number 23237 and
SR number 791. Its BR number was 30791 and in its later years it
was allocated to both Eastern and Western divisions of the
Southern Region at Nine Elms, Stewarts Lane and Eastleigh from
where it was withdrawn in May 1960. It was immediately cut up at
the nearby works. The plate, which is in excellent ex loco
condition with original paint and just the face polished, is
clearly stamped on the back “791”. (See lot 376 for the Smokebox
