1 BR(M) Flanged enamel STATION DIRECTION SIGN “LLANGWYLLOG STATION” with British Railways in totem and feathered arrow, from the ex LNWR station on the branch to Amlwch in North Wales near Holyhead. Good colour and shine with a few small well matched chip repairs - 28” x 13”. £660
2 LNER Cast iron SEATBACK “BRIDLINGTON” from the seaside station in the North East. Totally ex seat condition with black letters on white background  – 36” x 4¼”. £530
3 Alloy Single line KEY TOKEN “MACHYNLLETH / CEMMES ROAD”, a section of the ex Cambrian line to Aberystwyth. £150
4 SR TARGET “SIDCUP” from the Kent station in the East London suburbs. Ex station condition with good colour and shine and is still attached to its original backboard – 22” long. £360
5 SECR PASSENGER TIMETABLE for October 1903 until further notice. It comes with its original map in the back and has 176 pages. The covers are loose but the contents are complete and in good order. Attractive coloured front cover – 8” x 12”. £40
6 LMS COPPER TEA URN complete with a brass and wood on/off tap. The lettering “LMS” is raised and the side is also stamped “WW” for Wolverton Works. The urn stands 13” high with a diameter of 11”. Attractively polished and in good working order. £140
7 BR(M) Fully Flanged TOTEM “EGGINTON JUNCTION” from the Derbyshire station, closed in 1962, being the Junction station for the former North Staffs Railway and GNR lines between Uttoxeter and Derby Friargate and lines to Burton on Trent.. Good colour and shine with some well-matched repairs to look very good. A very rare totem only once previously in auction, in 1990, when it sold for £860!!. £3150
8 GWR mahogany cased OFFICE CLOCK bearing the number “GWR 0469” on the 3½” diameter face. A Smiths 8-day spring driven clock in good condition with just slight damage to the bezel and in full working order – 6” diameter overall. £190
9 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “82022” from a British Railways Class “3MT” 2-6-2T built at Swindon in 1954. It entered traffic on the Southern Region at Exmouth Junction with Its only other shed, some years later, being Nine Elms from where it was withdrawn in October 1965. The following May it was cut up at Buttigiegs, Newport. The plate is in excellent ex loco condition. £1100
10 CRUCHLEYS Railway map of the County of DURHAM – dated January 1st 1858. It folds out to 22” x 20” and shows all the railways and stations in the County. Good condition with slight browning on the folds. £65
11 CARRIAGE PRINT “CADGWITH via HELSTON CORNWALL” by Jack Merriott – a rare print showing an attractive view of cottages by the sea. In good condition and presented in an original glazed frame with kite marked glass – 21” x 11”. £310
12 GWR engraved Brass SHELF PLATE “CITY BASIN Jc BOX” in ex box condition with remains of wax infill. The box Is on the main line from Exeter to Cornwall, being the junction for the Teign Valley Branch – 4¾” x 1½”. £260
13 LNER Oval Brass WORKSPLATE “London & North Eastern Railway 69107 Darlington Works 1903”. As carried by ex-North Eastern Railway Class “U” 0-6-2T of 1902/3 which became LNER Class N10 number 1711. It was allocated to Hull Dairycoates for all its BR life until being withdrawn in November 1957 and cut up at Darlington works in January 1958. Face restored only – 9” x 5”. £180
14 East African Railways brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “9034” as carried by the EAR metre gauge ICCI 1875 HP Class 90 Diesel electric built by English Electric as works number 3829/Vulcan foundry D1215 in 1968.The class was a relative of the BR Class 40 and were the first main line locos designed for operating heavy passenger trains on the Mombasa – Nairobi route. Face restored only – 23” x 8½”. £50
15 BR(W) Half Flanged TOTEM “WEST DRAYTON & YIEWSLEY” from the Middlesex  junction station for Uxbridge on the ex GWR main line from London. Very good colour and shine with minor edge chipping only. Only once before in auction in 1995.  £1250
16 SR wood framed glass LAMP TABLET “LAUNCESTON” from the Cornish station between Halwill Junction and Padstow that closed in 1966. Steam is still alive at Launceston with the narrow gauge line in operation and the station is now a museum. Excellent ex station condition – 18” x 6½”. £710
17 BR red on white enamel WARNING NOTICE “DANGER DON’T TOUCH CONDUCTOR RAILS”. Excellent condition with minor screw hole chips only – 20” x 12½”. £16
18 SHEDPLATE “75F” TUNBRIDGE WELLS WEST. A rare plate - repainted with clear BR(S) Eastleigh triangle on the back. £810
19 GWR fully titled Cast iron sign Warning against the dangerous practice of Propping up Wagon Doors - with ten lines of text and  “JAMES C INGLIS” as the General Manager below. Repainted some time ago – 14” x 12½”. £100
20 A pair of TRANSACORD LP VINYL RECORDS – one featuring A3 Pacifics 1957 - 1959 and the other various engines on the Lickey Incline  (including 58100 the famous Lickey Banker) in December 1956 and January 1957. Both are in their original sleeves and appear to be in good condition. (2) £75
21 GWR Copper top three aspect HANDLAMP with “GWR” etched on the glass and a small brass plate “2342” on the side. Comes complete with unmarked vessel and burner and has been attractively restored and polished. £220

23 GWR wood cased HOME SIGNAL REPEATER with miniature signal and brass plate “17 – 18”. Attractive item In good ex box condition – stands 9” tall. £270
24 Waterloo DESTINATION BOARD ENAMELS “COBHAM” “CLAYGATE” “CLANDON” all on their original hardwood rollers – white on blue in good condition with some edge chipping – 17” x 2½”. (3) £100
25 Alloy DIESEL NAMEPLATE “PRIDE OF EASTLEIGH” from Class 47 47812 complete with its reduced size “Spitfire” DEPOT PLAQUE. This was one of two locos to be named after depots maintaining Virgin locomotives for the final locomotive hauled services. They were fitted in February 2002 and removed after the Voyagers took over. Both plates are in totally ex loco condition the nameplate being 59” x 10” and the plaque 12½” square. (2) £2500

26 ADVERTISING ENAMEL for “SPRATTS” featuring dog, cat, bird and fish in vertical format – certainly the most popular of these signs. Excellent condition with minor well-matched repairs around the screw holes – 5” x 24”. £540
27 SR Staybrite Steel ASHTRAY produced to celebrate the Centenary of Southampton Docks in 1938. This information is embossed around the original Company seal. Excellent condition – 4 ½” diameter. £40
28 GNR three aspect HANDLAMP with “GNR” clearly stamped on the body and a plate “PETROLEUM” at the top. Very good restored condition. £100
29 BR(M) Half Flanged TOTEM “WEMBLEY STADIUM” from an obvious location. The totems on this station were painted over Watford Junction totems with just the words repainted. However this one has not had the paint stripped off and is in totally ex station condition, including the hanging brackets, thus giving you the choice of two different totems for the price of one! Note – The totem has good colour and shine and just needs a good clean but there is no guarantee that it is Watford Junction underneath! This is the first one to be offered for sale without the paint stripped off.  £1700

33 LBSCR large copper SIGNAL LANTERN including its “LBSCR” marked Welsh Patent internal lamp which is complete with its vessel and burner. A superb rare item standing a full 19” tall. £150
34 GWR PASSENGER TIMETABLE for July to September 1911. The back cover is loose but the contents, comprising of 244 pages, are complete and in good order. Attractive coloured map on the front cover – 8” x 12”. £50
35 LMS oval Brass WORKSPLATE “BUILT 1948 HORWICH”. This is the Horwich works original pattern for LMS Built 194X Worksplates. The pattern number is impressed on the pattern which has had the LMS ground off and was last used for locos built in 1948. The last number of the year being brazed on to the pattern each year. Plates for 1949 had a new pattern with a more balanced layout of ‘Built Horwich 1949’. Your ideal opportunity to flood the market with worksplates cast from the original pattern (but we will be keeping a note of the pattern number!) £80
36 BR(M) Half Flanged TOTEM “ROADE” from the Northamptonshire station, closed in 1964, to the South of Northampton. Excellent colour and shine with some minor well matched chip repairs. A rare and desirable totem never before in auction. £1550
37 GWR titled SWINDON WORKS enamel sign in red on white background “GWR THE SEAL OF THIS BYE-PASS MUST ONLY BE BROKEN IN THE EVENT OF THE FAILURE OF THE METER AT NIGHT, AND IMMEDIATE NOTICE OF SUCH BREAKAGE MUST BE GIVEN TO THE GAS COMPANY”. A very rare sign attractively mounted in a wooden frame with just a few chip repairs mostly on the edges. The overall size, including the frame, is.a very displayable 27” x 15” £480
38 BR(S) Flanged enamel DOORPLATE “PARCELS & LEFT LUGGAGE”. Very good condition with its original eyelets – 18” x 6”. £210

40 BR(S) enamel DOORPLATE “PRIVATE”. Good colour and shine with one or two chip repairs at the edges and one in the centre that just goes into the “T” – 18” x 3½”. £35
41 LSWR four aspect fogmans HANDLAMP. The top is stamped "LSWR" and has a
brass plate "E" (Eastleigh). The body is stamped "L&SWR" and "1847" and has
an embossed "L&SWR Co" brass plate, plus a further brass plate "140".
Complete with vessel stamped "LSWR" and "SR" burner. A superb example of an early LSWR lamp presented in original condition and just needing some loving restoration.

42 BR(NE) Unflanged TOTEM “SCARBOROUGH CENTRAL” from the Yorkshire seaside resort . The totem is face drilled and this was certainly done before the enamel was fired. It has suffered from the elements with the colour faded and has lost its shine but is the first unflanged totem seen from this station and is certainly a great name. £770
43 BR BUFFER STOP LAMP with red bullseye lens and complete with its original vessel and burner. The lamp came from the carriage sidings at Coulsdon North. Unrestored – 19” high. £50
44 LT TRANSFER “TROLLEYBUS” mounted on a hardboard backed plastic panel for display. These transfers were placed in the rear windows of all Trolleybuses so that following vehicles realized their restrictions of movement – excellent condition – 20” x 16” overall. £100
45 BR(M) Flanged enamel STATION DIRECTION SIGN “CENTRAL STATION”, with right facing arrow and “British Railways” in totem, reputedly from outside Manchester Central Station. Good colour and shine with slight mottling and minor flange chips only – 28” x 13”. £230
46 GNR/LNER three aspect HANDLAMP with “GNR 591” stamped on the side and also a brass plate “ LNER DONCASTER PASS 24”. Excellent restored condition. and comes complete with its “LNER” marked vessel and burner. £100
47 BR(S) unflanged enamel STATION SIGN “DOWN STAIRS ON RIGHT TO TRAINS FOR BOURNEMOUTH, WEYMOUTH, RINGWOOD, LYMINGTON AND THE ISLE OF WIGHT” with feathered arrow below. A rare and attractive sign from the overbridge at Brockenhurst station and mounted on wooden batons. Excellent condition with very good colour and shine– 36” x 24”. BTC £760
48 GWR wood cased “SPAGNOLETTI” Double line Block SIGNALLING INSTRUMENT complete with its red and white knobs, slide and brass flaps and in excellent condition. One of a pair in the auction – this one has “DOWN LINE” above “UP LINE” (see lot 359) £130
49 SR TARGET “ASHTEAD” from the Surrey suburban station on the line from Epsom to Dorking. Pretty good colour and shine with some discoloration to the white and one or two small well-matched chip repairs by the screw holes. £180
50 BR(E) Half Flanged TOTEM “FELIXSTOWE BEACH” from the Suffolk seaside station that closed in 1967. The totem has undergone some expert restoration to display well as it had suffered in its location and from being stored outdoors for a long period. Nevertheless its first time in auction and a great lower panel name. £3300

51 South Eastern and Chatham & Dover Railways TOURIST and EXCURSION PASSENGER TIMETABLE produced in June 1899. Good overall condition with about 60 pages – 8” x 12”. £45

53 GNR Cast iron GATE NOTICE “Any person who omits to shut and fasten this gate is liable to a penalty not exceeding forty shillings”, and is stamped “GNRS” twice on the back. Repainted white on blue some time ago – 40” x 3¾”. £110
54 Rectangular Class 37 Chromed Brass WORKSPLATE “THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC Co Ltd VULCAN WORKS …… No 3321/D820 1963” ex-D6846/37146 which was allocated new to Cardiff Canton in June 1963. After many years of service it went to France in 1999 for a year and on its return in September 2000 went straight into store at Tyne Yard and was still there at the start of this year. In totally ex loco condition. £230

56 BR(W) TAIL LAMP with red bulls eye lens and embossed “BR(W)” on the chimney. Complete with its vessel and burner. Unrestored. £14
57 A set of loose HYMEK CABSIDE NUMBERS “D7076” from a BR Class 35 built by Beyer Peacock. The “6” has been polished at some time – the remainder are ex loco with the “D” partly covered in blue paint. (5) £220
58 LMS Oval Brass WORKSPLATE “N0 62025 1948” from a British Railways (LNER) Class “K1” 2-6-0 built by the North British Company in 1948/9 with works number 26630. Shedded at Blaydon, Gateshead, Heaton, Tweedmouth, North Blyth, Sunderland and Tyne Dock it was finally withdrawn in April 1967 and cut up at Arnott Youngs in Dinsdale in September of that year. Front polished, rear ex loco - 12” x 6.5”. £310

67 S&D Jt Fully Titled Cast Iron TRESPASS NOTICE. “SOMERSET and DORSET JOINT LINE TRESPASSING ON THE RAILWAY…….” - with nine lines of text and dated August 1903. Excellent condition with front only attractively repainted – 26” x 22”. BTC £510
68 BR Cast iron SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE “9” from an ex Cambrian Vale of Rheidol narrow gauge 2-6-2T built in 1902 and numbered by the GWR 1213. British Railways allocated it number “9” in 1949 and it received its name “Prince of Wales” in 1956. Ex loco condition – 20” x 6”. £1800
69 BR sheet alloy STATION SIGN with the Double Arrows emblem on a red background, in ex station condition – 40” x 24”. £20
70 China TEAPOT and CUP with ornate gold decoration and transfer prints of the Holsworthy Viaduct. These were made in Germany and quite possibly produced for the opening of the line to Bude. The teapot is about the same size as the cup standing 4½” tall. Both items are in good condition and the teapot retains its lid. (2) £90

72 Oval brass WORKSPLATE “ROBERT STEVENSON & HAWTHORNS LTD 7679 NEWCASTLE WORKS 1951” from an outside cylinder 0-4-0ST No.17 owned by the Central Electricity Generating Board working at Dunston Power Station, near Gateshead. Ex loco condition with Job number E7679 scratched on the back – 13” x 8½”. £160
73 R / BR(S) wooden framed double sided STATION SIGN “PLATFORMS 2 AND 3 THROUGH SUBWAY”. Good ex station condition with a few chips – 50” x 20”. £150
74 BR(S) Fully Flanged TOTEM “MARDEN” from the Kent station on the line from Tonbridge to the coast. Good colour and shine with a few chip repairs in the green. n/s
75 Alloy NAMEPLATE “ARK ROYAL” and BRASS BADGE from a loco built by English Electric, with works number 3805/1176, in August 1968. Later to become Class 50 number 50035. Having finished work on the Crewe-Glasgow line it was transferred to the Western Region in May 1973 and named “Ark Royal” by the Captain of the ship at Plymouth Station in January 1978 - this being the first of the class to be named. The plates were removed in August 1990 and the locomotive was sold to Fifty Fund in 1991 for preservation – currently in store at Old Oak Common. One of the best names and with the substantial brass badge a superb set. The plate is a very displayable 39” x 10” and the badge 15” x 20” overall. (Comes with its Collectors Corner receipt and a handwritten history) BTC £11750
